New menu@ CRT

Ok, I'm so glad that I'm not the only one. Last year the food was simply amazing...especially the cheesy potatoes & the cream cheese stuffed french toast with that unbelievable blueberry sauce!

We were so disappointed this year that I still can't believe it! The french toast was called the same thing but it was not. It had about a teaspoon of cream cheese in the very middle & was served with a few fresh strawberries & blueberries. No sauce...such a bummer.

We didn't even get to try the potatoes because it wasn't served with the french toast & our waiter never said we could have any thing from the other choices.

Thanks for the direct answer - but so sorry to hear the "bad news". Now I'm torn - give it one more chance, or cut my losses?

In years past, when I dined there solo, I always enjoyed flirting with the princesses, but it sounds like Mary Poppins is no longer a regular there. One of my favorite moments was Mary and Belle fighting over my attention.

Ah, what to do? And 44 bucks as well?

Our waiter said they had changed stuff around (I am assuming that means they tweeked the entrees) and removed some sandwich they had on there... he said that was the first day of the change on 9/22.

Hey! Welcome home! How was your trip?!

Glad to see your CRT fared better than ours.
Remember all that silliness I went through trying to get that ADR? And then it was just a HUGE disappointment!
Maybe I should not have tried so hard. Could have been the good Lord's way of telling me not to go!
Oh well. We salvaged the day with our other plans.

Do you have a trip report posted?
Anxious to hear how everything went for you!

PS - sorry to hijack!

I didn't enjoy the lunch menu on our last trip, but the breakfast before that was great. If they changed the blueberry cream-cheese french toast thingy, then I'm glad I've been there/done that. Glad we're going to CP for breakfast this time!

That said, everyone should still enjoy a meal at the castle at least once. ;)

This is rather disappointing. It really was delicious when my wife and I went back in June. We were planning on going again next year. Now I don't know. Maybe if Breakfast got worse lunch and dinner got better!?

So let me get this straight - it is STILL all you can eat and you can order other choices? For instance my husband really eats almost no veggies, so could he get the scrambled eggs the kids get?

I never thought the service was that great to begin with at CRT, so if it worse we are in trouble. I always thought they act rushed and HATE that. I go because my girls are 6 and 4 and demand it. But it so pricey for what you get!!

we went 10/2 and were given the three choices and then told we could have whatever else we wanted too. So yes, in my opinion, it was still AYCE.

Plus, I think $40 pp for food, princess interaction, photographs (which at Chef Mickey, Hoop de doo, etc. you pay $31 for), a sword (or wand) and a wishing star was a great deal.

We went there the week of 9/21 as well (was actually on 9/26) for breakfast. I do have to agree with the disappointed side of the group. We were rushed through the photo, then rushed through the dinner. The plates of food were barely explained and she never once offered any "refills". The server was dropping orange juice all over the 3 of us (and all over everything on the small 2 person table we had). The food itself was ok (she got the "meat" plate, which I think was the omelette, and I got the "sweet" one, which was the french toast (I guess, was more like fried dough)), nothing spectacular, but ok. The princesses were alright as well. Our Jasmine and Aurora were great, but our Belle and Snow White were rushed.

In the end, I'm glad we did it, but I wouldn't be doing it again. I was happy that I paid OOP for it instead of using TS credits though. We (would have) paid just as much (if not more) at other 1TS places during the week for much better food, service, and atmosphere.

However, with all that said, I do believe that expectations were set much higher than was reasonable too. I had expected this amazing breakfast, and was given a roughly standard one. That easily could have tainted the experience. Lastly, we were considerably late (somone, I won't mention my name!, read the bus wrong and we went to AK first...) and I really felt we were punished for it. However, if numerous people had the same experience, then I may guess that it's par for the course.

It does seem that a lot of the recent negatives were from that first week of menu change though. I do wonder if that had a lot to do with it (both from our side, and CMs still getting used to the changes, and who knows what other changes happened behind the scenes).

Wondering if they changed lunch

Yep, they removed the Turkey Foccaccia sandwich as a previous person said, not sure what they added. I was going to order the sandwich based on review of the menus on 10/2, but it was gone.

Hi, can anyone tell me if they have changed the dinner menu?

We are hoping to go for dinner on my birthday in Jan, and we are all looking forward to the Beef!

Many thanks

Unfortunately the deal is that people don't go there for the food. They go for the castle and the princesses. They could serve asphalt in transmission fluid sauce and it'd still be booked up. (I am sure this is only a slight exaggeration)

The egg dish sounds like a frittata, not a souffle.

Well, I think we are going to keep our ressie. I figure if they changed the menu to pre-plated wouldn't they have to let you know since you paid for an all-you-care-to-eat breakfast?
