I just bought 150 SSR today! Hopping to add more resale later on......

My guide told me that my use year is June and I could barrow points for my May/05 vacation. I don't have my packet yet so I have no clue how to do this but is this true?

With the barrowing scheme that Disney has and a June UY, is it possible to have 1.5x worth of points in every given calendar year mathemathically speaking?

Thank you for your response.

Just wanted to say Congratulations and Welcome Home, Neighbor!

Congrats and Welcome Home :wizard:

As far as the 1 1/2 pt's question. Buy your resale now ! because you'll never have enough points:rotfl2:

Welcome home!

I think resale is fine, if you can find the same use year, and the amount that you want. Add in the closing costs and decide for yourself if you want to do it through Disney or through a retailer. We've added on 2 times through Disney, and 2 times resale.

Why same use year?

Different use years get confusing for the owner (different banking deadlines). It is harder for you to combine points when you are making reservations within the 7 month window with MS. All in the same use year is simple.

It is possible but the June use year has nothing to do with it. It is also possible to have any number up to 3X (4X truthfully but that gets complicated) your point total if you bank and borrow.

I find it easier to manage with all points in the same use year. We're happy with March UY, and tend not to go to WDW in Jan. or February. Since December is our final 25% banking window, I know by then if there are any points still to use/bank.

I know that some others do have different use years, but we have one contract number with 5 different parts, (these could be sold separately, since they were bought separately), and it works for us.

That's interesting. I actually meant 1.5x your total point every year not just one year.

Sorry I misunderstood. You can do what you are saying for a couple of years before it catches up with you.

You can have 1.5 times your points by borrowing 50% of the next year's points. Then in year two you would have only 50% left so to reach 1.5 times, you would have to use all of the year three's points by borrowing. In year three, since you'd have no current points, you would have to borrow all of the following year's and that would leave you with only 1.0.

So your idea would work for 2 years but then you'd have to take a year off.
