I'm so excited. We just purchased a resale contract at OKW and are heading to WDW for our first DVC trip on Friday! We are staying at OKW for 2 nights then switching to AKV for 2 nights. I'm kind of nervous about switching hotels. Any advice to make the switch smoothly? Also any advice for a first timer staying in a DVC? Thanks

;) Just relax and know that it will change the way you do Disney....have a terrific time. Soemone on another thread said just set up a pick up time for your luggage with bell services, the night before...then just get out the clothes you need for the next mornign and you will be ready to go. Have a great time and enjoy both resorts.

Congratulations on your purchase. When you leave OKW just tell bell services that you are now going to AKL and they will deliver your cases. When you arrive at AKL just inform bell services what room you are staying at and they will take cases to that room.

Congratulations!
Only advice being new to DVC....Check out the Member Perks upon arrival for discounts on dining options.
Enjoy and get ready for addonitis!

You will have to be in the new room for bell service to deliver your bags.

Congratulations! Enjoy many years of DVC ownership!:cheer2:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Maybe we will see you there, we arrive at OKW on Fri. also. Welcome home!!!

Congratulations and Welcome Home!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy your trip.

For our trip last summer we moved from POP over to AKV, and the Bell Service at POP told me that the bags would simply be delivered to my room at AKV. We spent the day at DTD and came back to AKV later in the day to find that they were not in fact delivered to our room. I called AKV Bell Service to find out where my bags were and they indicated that they will not just deliver them to your room, you have to contact them, and that they required someone to be in the room when they deliver them.

Congratulations on your new membership! You are going to LOVE it.

We are doing our first split stay in December, so I'm not sure how we are going to like it. I'm hoping it's not a big pain, but we have to try it at least ONCE, right? :lmao:

Enjoy your trip!

Welcome home. We have stayed at multiple resorts many times and it is a very easy process. Just tell the bell captain at OKW and Disney will take care of everything.
