I was looking at the point page and was wondering what the difference between renting points and getting a reservation is....what are developer points...and why do people follow their own post with another that just says bump

thanks for the help

Developer points are given to new members for buying in to DVC. Think of them as "extra points" to use for a trip. Right now, they have to be used for stays at SSR, Disneyland, or banked into RCI.

Members who are renting points are offering their points to other DVC owners or non-members who are interested in staying at DVC accomodations but either don't own points (non-owners) or don't have enough points (DVC owners) for where and when they want to vacation. The points are not yet tied to a specific vacation and the member is offering to call and book something based on what the renter needs.

Members who show that they have a "reservation for..." have already booked and reserved the room and are offering to rent it to someone who might be interested in that specific resort and those specific dates.

When someone enters ''bump", it is a way to move the thread back up to the top of the list. It keeps the thread "alive" if you will.
