New member question

New member to DVC and have a simple question....I think. April use year for SSR now. My question is when can I begin to make reservations (11 months) out? Is it 11 months out from when my points are available (June)? Or can I make reservations for October 2004 now even though the points are not officially mine yet?

Any help here would be appreciated.

SSR owners can start making reservations on December 1. Otherwise you can always make the reservations 11 months from your check out date. Use year really doesn't matter for much of anything unless you have to cancel a trip.

On December 1, 2003- SSR owners may begin making reservations at all DVC resorts (for a time after the SSR reosrt opens in May, 2004). On that date you can make reservation for anytime thru November 30, 2004 at SSR and anytime thru June 30, 2004 at other resorts (as long as it's after SSR opens).

As long as the points will be in your account by the time of the reservation you can reserve- regardless when you Use Year begins. If you won;t have sufficient points from one Use Year, you can also borrow form the next.

I wanted to point out that there is some slightly incorrect information here.

If you are a SSR owner, you can make your reservations at SSR starting on December 1 for any date after your building is scheduled to open.

If you want to stay at a different DVC resort, you can make them at your 7-month booking window for stays after your building is scheduled to open.

To clarify, I own SSR in building #1 and I have already booked my room for my trip the first week of June.

I had to clarify this with the DVC people too. It is very confusing, but I was able to make my reservation with no complications.
