New Member Gift?

So we just returned our contract and in the paperwork was a little certificate saying our 'new member gift' would be sent soon (I assume after they receive our contract). I know nothing about this, and haven't read about it anywhere? Is that standard? What is it (or is it supposed to be a surprise?). Just curious what to expect. We did the onsite tour in mid December and just purchased with our downpayment in early Feb. We got 200pts at BLT wtih the standard $5 off per point incentive. I wasn't aware there was anything else we 'got'. I'll be happy with whatever it is, but it is driving me nuts not knowing.

nope, no tote bag, all the paperwork came in that big hard cover binder/folder thing. Nothing else. Maybe that is it.

We became a new members mid January and we received a tote bag. But after reading these boards for years while doing research, it does seem the few extra perks have been vanishing over time Maybe they changed things and are no longer giving the totes...or they just are on back order.

we got 45 $ in gift cards for going to check them out then i checked in from pofq to akl and seen that i could get 100$ for taking tour when we went back on sunday to sign up i pointed this OUT and they let me keep the 45 and gave me the 100 too oh yeah we got the tote bag to carry our new books and such .. Ice cream also lol also later sunday when i went back to akl the person there saw my new bag and said did they give you any pins i said no so she pulled out the new dvc pin for the blt said they were all to return them something about cm selling them said they are worth 50 bucks on ebay .... lol ty

We got tons of stuff when we bought in on Disney Wonder last September. I was really glad to get the tote bag, because so I didn't have to put the stuff in my luggage.

So, besides the tote bag, we got:

- 2 red baseball caps with the DVC logo on the front, "Member" on the back
- 2 door magnets with the logo and also saying "Member"
- 2 classic-style ballpoint-pens, which we used to sign our contract
- a LED-light thingy/keyring
- 2 Lanyards
- 2 art cards for the lanyards

Not sure if it's normal. When my guide gave me the bag, I smiled and said "Wow, cool". He looked at me and said "You're a Disney fan, hm?" Then he opened a closet and threw in all the other stuff described above. I was really happy of course!

We bought in December and I wasn't expecting anything special. BUT our guide Stephanie made a big deal about how they were going to send our paperwork and tote bag back to our hotel for us and she'd "hook it up". I was so excited to get back to the room and open it up. It was a total let down when it was just the same tote bag and our paperwork.
