New Member from PA

Hello all,
Since my family just booked a trip to WDW in June, I figured it is time to stop lirking and finally join.

We will leave PA and drive to Florida in time to be there the last week in June/first week in July.

This will be my 6th trip since 1996, when I was in kindergarden.

We are gonna be staying at CBR, for the third year running, in one of the new pirate rooms

Greetings neighbor My wife and i just got back Sunday the 10th from a long vacation at our "new" home Kidani at Animal Kingdom. Beautiful weather unlike hear. We are heading to Disney Land in August. Just can't stay away Enjoy the travel and vacation.

Welcome to the Dis! Which end of PA are you from - we are from Pittsburgh and have driven to Disney the last few times. We were there the same 2 weeks last year. Fourth of July is great but crowded - pick a park and plan to spend the day there. We did Epcot.

We are going in July this year - but also staying at CBR in a pirate room.

I'm from the Lancaster area, but have lots of family near Pittsburgh, My parents are both from Indiana County, so I've spent a lot of time between Indiana and Pittsburgh.

My family is originally from Indiana County ( I have been researching my family history). I love the Lancaster area - it is so pretty out there. I guess you will be driving down 95 through DC?

I'm near Pittsburgh too and we are going June 21st to June 28th also at the CBR!

What part of Pittsburgh? We are in the North Hills - Hampton Township.

The DIS is great! There's lots of useful info here. Though if you are anything like me (or many of the folks here), you will soon waste way too much time reading here.

(I figured I had to say "hi" to a lucky PA resident. I'm thinking of running down the road and knocking on a stranger's door to see who owns a particular car parked in my South Carolina neighborhood today. It's got a humongous Nittany Lion window sticker on the back. As you can see, I'm the homesick DIS member.)

i like your name, wishing4pa. we just came home last night from 8 nights at the contemp. it was 88 degrees in the day and 72 at night. we had two little rain events. came home to , for what i like to call the " cold,damp,wet state of pa", dont forget home of the pothole and high taxs. oh, forgot, eveyone just planted there gardens, we are expecting frost tonight! welcome home to the lovely state of pa.!!

That's what you get for planting before Memorial Day!
Just kidding. I do feel for you. I used to plant some of my garden before Memorial Day, too, and sometimes got hit by the late frost.
My garden down here is doing pretty well so far, and the flowerbeds are colorful too. The trick down here is keeping it all from dying in July and August and September in the heat.

Near Pittsburgh. I work in Dormont but I live in Canonsburg. It is about 2o miles south of Pgh.

We pass Canonsburg on the way to Disney down 79 - plus I went to college with a few people from Canonsburg. Are you driving or flying to Disney?

Most definately flying. My son gets car sick and I'd hate to put him through that ride. I keep watching southwest and hoping that the late flight home has a lower rate. I think I may change it so that we can leave Disney at 7pm instead of at 12:30. We can have one more day at the parks or to just relax by the pool or water park.

We used to always fly for the same reason, then in last year we had a last minute opportunity to go over spring break, needless to say we could not get a flight, so we drove. My kids did great - and we found we loved having a car there. It is a long drive but not nearly as horrible as I had anticipated. It is still great to fly though, especially when SW has a deal. The problem I had when we flew is that DH always insisted on getting the first flight out in the mornings, so we had to be at the ME bus sometimes at 5-6am - no fun!
