Hi and welcome to the boards! I'm sure you will have a wonderful time in both NY and at WDW! I see you plan on spending 10 days in NYC, and I see you have a DD11, she might enjoy a visit to the American Girl store (and your DD16 might even think it is cool) .

Hi Toy Story! Yes I do live in Cairns and it is an great place to live. We try to do a Great Barrier Reef Trip every couple of years.
There is a mention of the American Girl store which we visited in Los Angeles in 2007. My daughters were 17 and 21 and still loved seeing all the dolls and girly things. Have a great trip!
