NEW March 3-10, 2012 - Western Caribbean with the Magic!

Unfortunately we don't have tickets. There is no way we could afford them. We go for the experience and then come home and watch the game. We did this in new Orleans and Houston too. Loads of fun.will be our sons first Superbowl road trip. Go pats!!
Just wondering what is in the cruise packet...tx

The packet is a small booklet that includes your cruise luggage tags, information about the cruise, the itinerary and docking times, your specific activities/excersions/palo etc, any flight information you have given DCL, ground transfers. Nothing too exciting, but good information to have. And getting it just makes the cruise seem that much closer.

My hubby tells me our packet came in last week...but he doesn't know where it is. Love him dearly but oiy.

Finally decided what we are doing to get to the port.
We will be at Pop.
Hubby and older daughter fly in Friday. Gonna have him rent a car for $45 and then we will return it at Cape Canaveral which I'm assuming is somewhere near the port?? Otherwise it's $140 for all 4 of us to use Disney transportation I believe, and about the same to get a limo service.

Now question...is anyone dressing up for pirate night??

Our kids have costumes, but I am not sure if I could get my DH to dress up so we will most likely not be dressed up.

Do you know how close to the port the car rental return is located? We are currently taking Disney transportation from the movie resort and I thought about renting a car.

We have costume for the kids, too. As for us, I am making us pirate night themed shirts from one of the pictures earlier in the thread. I am also making us Disney Magic shirts from a different picture:)

We haven't received our cruise package yet:( hopefully soon!

Received confirmation today that our passports have been mailed. One less thing to worry about. And hubby found our packet so that was nice to review.
Has anyone ever mailed a box for their cruise? Any luck or does it make you nervous?
I see in past navigators that there are spa specials everyday. Does anyone know how hard it is to book those?
My six year old will be dressed up for pirate night. No way I could get my hubby to do that.. not his thing.
Reading disboards for ideas of things to bring...haven't cruised since I graduated from medical school in 2000...any suggestions?
Can't wait to meet everyone then just relax ( no phone. No pager. No web to do charts. No emails. I will be in heaven!):tinker::dumbo::goofy:

Hey everyone, our cruise in NEXT MONTH!!!! Yippie!!!

I think for pirate night We will just wear pirate t-shirts, unless I find something cute by next month that will work.

Our fist extender came in the mail yesterday! WOW it looks beautiful. I can't wait until next month at this time!!:banana:

Shoopdeedoo - I need FE ideas for Austin. I have no experience with 12 year old boys (well, since I was 12!). What kinds of stuff is he into? Do you have an Xbox?

Yes, we have an xbox with Kinnect, and a Wii. He loves most anything really... he's very laid back and would be happy with a pen, a piece of candy, etc.

Happy 3 week mark everyone! :yay: We've been much too quiet for a group going on vacation in 3 weeks.

I am really getting psyched for this vacation. I found a dress, not anything really fancy but I really like it and it was relatively inexpensive. jcpenny.com had a pretty good selection. Plus I rationalized the purchase because I needed it for the formal night and Palo's. :rolleyes1

Tomorrow I'm taking inventory to see if there's anything else that we need. I'm pretty sure DH will need some shorts because he's lost almost 100 lbs in the past year. He also wants to go book shopping and I think I'm going to need a pair of silver sandles to go with my new dress.

Hope you are all having a great time with the final planning.

Cathy

I'm super excited to leave for our cruise but wow is time flying by!

We've been swamped with all sorts of different things. My husband is in the middle of switching jobs which will now require travel, I've been sick  and my daughter's first real in depth biography book report is due on Wednesday. While she is doing all of the work, I am sitting with her to encourage her and help her with ideas when she gets stuck. It has taken a lot more time than I thought it would. We have finally finished her mask which had to look like her person and the final draft of the actual report. Now we just have to create a cover and prepare notes for her oral report. Ugh! Hopefully I'll be healthy and able to focus on our FE gifts and packing by Thursday.

I had to even order a FE from Tiffany since I won't have time any longer to try sewing one myself. They look beautiful and it will be much nicer than I would have been able to do so I think it will be totally worth the money but I'm kind of disappointed that I don't have time to do it myself. Oh well, I just have to remember that I am not an octopus as I keep telling my son. I only have two hand and can only do so much.

[Deep Breath] Sorry about that. I'm done venting now. Thanks for 'listening'. Apparently, I need this vacation more than I realize.

Congratulations to your husband, Cathy. That is a huge accomplishment!

You are not alone:)

I ordered our FE from Tiffany and it is great! Our FE gifts are pretty basic, I wanted to be much craftier, but my 3 and 5 year olds wanted to make the gifts so we went with simple and it was so fun (we just made one small part- the rest are, yes.... store bought:rolleyes1)

This month is crazy- who knew! I am not even close to packing and was just looking at the calendar trying to figure that one out. I plan all the field trips for my son's preschool and this month is a focus on our community which means the one month a year that I do one field trip a week. It is also my daughter's trike/bike-a-thon for her kindergarten fundraiser (which of course I am also help organizing), not to mention that I am heading up our IB charter school's committee on rewriting our charter to include high school---ahhhhhhh!

Oh yeah, there is also work, classroom volunteering, household duties, making cruise magnets, and valentine's parties.

Instead of calgon take me away can we say DCL Magic take us away...:thumbsup2

Let's get ready to cruisepirate:

Yucaipagal, I'm so glad to hear that I'm not alone. I never would have thought that this month would be so absolutely insane. Hopefully things will calm down soon and we can get ourselves ready to go!

I love your saying! :rotfl:

I think I will be repeating it over and over again 18 days. "DCL Magic please take us away!"
