Has anyone been yet? I'm assuming it is now open. Can't remember the name, but it looked to have a lot of really good stores.

Do you mean Mall of Millenia?

I've not been yet but I have heard that it was full of "Designer" style shops etc.

Try Simon's link at the top of the page for shopping etc.

It must be the Mall at Millenia, which opened in October. We went there for our first visit last week and were very impressed. It is an up-market shopping centre with some seriously high prices, but there are still bargains to be had (DW bought a blouse in Macy's for $9!!), and the whole environment is so classy it is a pleasure to be in.

Their website is:

Another research trip Simon, or a 'proper' holiday (and how do you tell the difference)?

How's the DLP book coming along? Still on target for the Spring?

Regards

Rob

A proper family research holiday, Rob, what else? ;) Yes, the DLP book is still on course for March (fingers crossed), and I think you will have your own trip there before too long, hey?

Yes, three days tagged on to the end of our ski holiday, 27-30 Dec. We're driving past Paris on the way home, so I thought it would be rude not to visit Mickey (and take advantage of our APs).

Any chance you could re-post your review of DCA? We've just booked to visit Disneyland next Easter - I had some Airmiles I had to use, and all Orlando flights were booked so we thought we'd visit San Francisco and LA.

Regards

Rob

Yep, that's it Bonzo. I love those ritzy malls; don't spend much money at them, but I love to window shop. Thanks for the link Simon.

We visited this last week and I was REALLY IMPRESSED with the Mall at the Millenium. It's the type of place I would suggest the chaps drop the girls at 10.00 and go back to collect them at closing time because it's likely to be just TOO demanding on most if us (I'd also steal all credit cards before unleashing them guys ;) ). Two rounds of golf ( well a full marathon for that matter) is likely to be more restful :) .

It is a fabulous mall. One day may not be enough (a day on each level would suit me;) ).

We were in Orlando when the Mall at Millenia opened on 18 October. The I-4 was virtually gridlocked - we were checking in to HRH that day and it took us almost 1.5 hours to get from our villa on US192 to Universal! It wasn't until we saw a report on the news that evening that we realised what had caused the mayhem. I think they reported something like 60,000 visitors on that first day.

We didn't visit until a week later on 25 October and it was fairly quiet then. I loved it - it's upmarket and classy without being stuffy. I'd think twice about walking into stores such as Tiffany, Chanel and Louis Vuitton in London or Beverly Hills, but the staff at the Mall at Millenia were really friendly. In fact the girl in Louis Vuitton recognised me from Tod's at The Premium Outlet Mall where she'd been working the week before! I like the way the designer stores are mixed up with the high street stores. There are a couple of one-off stores too and plenty of electrical and gadget stores to keep the boys happy (Matt would have been happy to spend all day in Bestbrands, Vernon!).

We also had our first taste of The Cheesecake Factory and loved it. It has a huge menu with something for everyone - pizza, pasta, steak, burgers, and so much more. And, of course it would have been churlish not to have tried the cheesecake!
