GardenWalk is coming along, House of Blues is opening there next year, the JW Marriott is opening on property in a few years, and so is the conversion of the Anaheim Plaza to a 4-Star Hotel.

One big difference, AGW is designed more for tourists, and the new LT Platinum will be for the locals.

They need some high rise development on Harbor by Disneyland. With land running $20 - $30 million an acre it only makes sense to build up.

They are not allowed by law, it is called the "Disney Cone" by developers, and the height is based on who close it is to the Disneyland Hub area.

No this is a mixed use project, it is trend to have housing as part of the package, and has a built in set of shoppers.

GardenWalk was designed to focus on Tourists (Park Goers and Conventioneers).

I don't see this as comparable to LA Live, which is a $1+ billion project anchored by a 1000 room Ritz Carlton/JW Marriott. This is supposed to cost $450 million and the proposed hotel is only 3 star level--not really a "luxury" development.

I don't think the comparison to LA Live is correct, as LA Live is also designed as an entertainment and tourist location.

The LT Platinum is designed for an Urban Center focused on locals. (Live, work and shop at the same place)
