New Luxury Lounge at Universal?

Any info on the new luxury lounge that has opened in Universal for people with American Express purchased tickets? This was posted on the DIS news feed.

I still need to buy tickets for our trip this July.

The American Express Lounge is scheduled to open within the Universal Studios theme park on Tuesday, May 10. The area will be open to guests who purchase a multi-park ticket or annual pass with an American Express Card at the front gate of the park or at UniversalOrlando.com.

The lounge, located on the street that runs between Shrek 4-D and Monsters Cafe, will give air-conditioned comfort along with complimentary beverages and light refreshments. It will also have a charging station for cameras and cell phones.

The lounge, which will be staffed with a concierge for dining reservations and other services, will be open seven days a week.

Lounge access begins with purchases made Tuesday. To access the lounge, guests need to show their receipt (or confirmation page if purchased online) along with their AmEx card and ticket.

Sorry about the duplicate post. I even had done a search before posting but my search parameters "luxury lounge" were not included in that thread and therefore it didn't get pulled up.

Hopefully it's for immediate families members as well, even if they don't have an amex?

I'm wondering that as well. I still need to purchase 2 tickets. But I already have 2 tickets that I bought a long time ago when they were $85 for 7 day passes. I would hate for only 2 of us to have access to the lounge and exclude the other 2.

Although, we are staying club level at RPR, so its not a super big deal, in any case.

Oh wait...is it just any amex, or is a Universal-branded amex card? The article said "Universal/American express charge card"....

hmmm, know you can get the AMEX discount @ SW for the dolphin swims @ discovery cove if you only use a pre-paid AMEX gift card. Might work same @ U unless u need to actually show the card to gain acess to the lounge.

I found more info on Universal's website, this is the terms and conditions:

*Receive exclusive access to the American Express Lounge with purchase of any Universal Orlando® multi-park ticket or Annual Pass with any American Express Card. Purchase must be made with any American Express Card to be eligible. Present your confirmation page or original receipt plus your American Express Card to gain entrance to the American Express Lounge located in Universal Studios Florida across from Shrek’s Ye Olde Souvenir Shoppe. Party size will be determined based on quantity of multi-park ticket or annual pass purchases noted on purchase receipt (limited to 6 people per card). Space is limited and is available on a first come, first served basis. Offer ends 5/15/12. Lounge is open seven days a week from 12 pm -5 pm. Days and times are subject to availability and to change without notice. Additional restrictions may apply. No refunds or returns. Parking fees are not included.
