New Luggage tags?

My daughter just called WDW because we never received our yellow luggage tags so our bags would be sent to our resort. She was told the tags we received with our magic bands were the new tags for magical express. Does this mean we need to have them cut off before we go back home?

That is not correct. You need to call DME directly.

And, FWIW, this is an excellent example of why you should never believe anything a phone CM tells you.

When is your trip? The MB's (and luggage tags if you have a package) come before the DME information and NO they will not get your bags delivered to your room via DME

The yellow DME luggage tags come with your DME information about a month prior to the trip. As pp's suggested it is best to call DME directly to confirm your reservation and make sure your yellow tags are on the way.

Wow, where do these phone CMs get off making up answers to questions? I'd be LIVID if I did what that CM said and then my luggage ended up lost. OP - good thought to come to this board and verify!!

How far out from your trip are you? It's possible that your tags haven't been sent yet, but as other posters noted, you can call DME to verify to give yourself peace of mind.

I'm thinking that my dd should just work on the phones during her DCP time!!! At least she would give out correct info!!! That's just crazy!! I always tell people to call DME directly if there is a question or an issue. WDW people have no idea what the heck they're talking about.

Haven't experienced getting MBs before DME tags. Hmm. MBs ship out pretty close to departure now; at around three weeks out.

Wow - our MB's are always significantly earlier than the MDE package! We have declined the past couple trips but I will watch for this now that we have November and December booked and plan to get bands with at least one of those trips.

I want to thank you all for your help. We didn't even have Magical Express tied to our up coming reservation. When I called the CM said I was given incorrect information and that she has applied ME to our reservation, gave me times for our last day pick up and assured me the luggage tags would be printed and sent out that day. It should take about 7 days. Thank you again.
