I know Legos came out with some new designs this summer. Will they come out with new (looking for Creator) before Christmas? Or is that it?

Also, When (how often) does Toys R Us have buy one get one 50 percent off?

What is the new Lego Christmas (Winter Village) this year? Will Toys R Us carry this?

Thanks!

I guess you've seen the Seaside House (7346) ?

The new Christmas items is "Winter Village Cottage" - item 10229, priced at $99.99, to be released Oct 1st.

Lego.com also shows a haunted house getting released in September.

I don't remember when the ToysRus sales typically are - they mark up the legos quite a bit, so their sales aren't as good as they appear. Downtown Disney has a great lego store, BTW.

I know TRU had the buy one get one 50% off between Thanksgiving and Christmas last year at some point, we took advantage of it.

I've seen the buy one get one half off Legos at Toys r Us a few times a year, but like the previous poster mentioned, a lot of their Legos are marked up. They will do it before Christmas, and sometimes in January. I can't remember the other times of year I saw the deal. Sometimes they run buy 2 get 1 free deals as well. A lot of their deals are only for certain sets/themes.

Check this link out for a list of 2012 Lego sets.

My kids always want to stop in the Lego store at DTD.....I hope they have some new lines this year.

Toys "R" Us marks up LEGO sets a ridiculous amount, average around 20%. Some sets are marked up 80%. Yes, an 80% mark-up.

So when it's "buy one, get on 50% off" at Toys "R" Us, that's about the same you will pay for regular price at Target, Wal Mart or the LEGO Store. And the LEGO Store gives you defacto 5% back in gift cards (10% during October) when you sign up for the VIP card.

We like the Lego store and their 'rewards' program too. Toys R Us is way overpriced on almost everything. I bought a few sets at TRU last year and thought I was getting a deal.....then returned them because even at B1G1 50% off they were cheaper elsewhere :(
