New Le cellier Menu is up

Cant wait till next year.. I know I was only there two weeks ago, but it was a stand out meal on our trip, as it is every time we go.
The menu's doesnt look too different. We normally go at lunch time as we can never get a dinner res.

I was amazed I got a table for 6 at 6pm. Maybe they save a few tables for Canadians. :)

Their prix fix menu looks good but it appears the prices have gone up on the ala cart menu.

Just read through the menus. I'm not sure of the worth now. If the quality is going way up, maybe...but a $15 burger... :confused3

Looked at the dinner menu and it appears comparable to the offerings at Yachtsman Steak House. Will the quality be up to YSH standards?

I have enjoyed this in the past. I don't know if the value is there now. The prices have definitely increased even on the lunch menu. But I did like the beer! :thumbsup2

Just cancelled my ressies for those prices I am going to Narcoossee's and having a lobster with a view of wishes. I dont think it is worth it any longer.

It's always been overrated. Now it has the distinction of being overpriced AND overrated.

You forgot the IMO part. How can you judge a brand new menu without ever eating there?:confused3

We've loved it every time we've eaten there, and am going again on the 26th.

At least they'll have Canadian beef now. Kind of a letdown when I found out they didn't. Now if only the Canada pavilion could have a Tim Horton's in it...

You're correct regarding my overrated remark. I suppose if they've changed substantially, there is no way to know if they are still overrated.

Regarding my overpriced remark, I can make that statement even without having tried the new menu simply because I can see the prices. It looks very comparable to Yachtsman and I love Yachtsman. Yachtsman is overpriced, however.

I've enjoyed myself at each of my past, multiple experiences at Le Cellier. Each time though, it didn't live up to the hype - hence, overrated.

Hopefully with the increase in prices will come an increase in space between tables.

I am totally with Andrew on this one. Le Cellier has always been overhyped and not worth it IMHO. It used to be much, much better about ten years ago. Still the hype is not worth it. This menu is just more insult to injury. $7 for carrots? $23 for quiche? $7 for sauteed mushrooms? Honestly. I rather give my money to California Grill or Jiko.

Seems like on this board everything was better 10 years ago. It's amazing anyone ever goes any more, since everything is hated so much. :)

I don't think anyone hates everything, I think in this case for some people Le Cellier got to the tipping point. That gets discussed alot on the Podcast and on the boards. I've never eaten at Le Cellier and now that I see the new menu I probably never will. I don't hate it, I'm just not interested in spending that much for a dinner. I feel the same way about the Princess breakfast at Askerhaus. It's $30 now for breakfast, that's my tipping point. I do enjoy it, but it's just got to be too much. Others my feel differently. It's a personal preference. Everyone perceives value differently.

When on the dining plan and eating dinner at Le Cellier, how do they figure in the sides? Do you get one included in your meal, or are all of them additional costs that go beyond the dining plan??

I'm right there with you! Years ago all I ever heard about was how great LC was. One summer we decided to do the dining plan (and never did it again) and try places we normally wouldn't pay the completely over-inflated prices for out of pocket. We did LC and we were totally disappointed! I couldn't believe I planned that meal 180 days out! :confused3 And thank God we didn't pay out of pocket, I'm sorry - paying that much for food is crazy. I can go to the food store and buy an awesome filet or Porterhouse on my own, cook it EXACTLY how I like, have the sauce I love, and pay 1/10 of the price. Yes - it's a theme park and vacation - but IMO there is no food on property worth those ridiculous prices. I love Disney but this is something that just drives me nuts. I'd rather save the $ for more vacations and eat at some of my fave counter service places with a few less-expensive table services thrown in! :lmao:

But you are right, people perceive value differently, so everyone will have their own opinion. That's why Disney is a great place so there's something for everyone! :thumbsup2 Different resorts, different rides, and most importantly different food choices! As far as LC goes now, I saw the new menu and prices and it totally reinforced that I will never have another visit back to LC. Unless someone said we could eat there for free!

Then again, if I was offered a free meal at Disney, I'd probably go to the Clam Bake or Whispering Canyon. Ribs and clams are totally up my alley and I've never had a bad meal at either place after multiple visits!!
