Does anyone have an idea when the new dinner menu will be available? We have dinner ressies in March and I heard that the menu is changing since it will now be a Signature for dinners. Thanks in advance!!!

Melissa

Sorry no word yet on when the new menu will be announced.

We were there on 2/2 and I asked the server if they would announce the menu before March 1 and he said no. Of course that is probably the "standard" answer but I suppose they could do that.
Doesn't seem fair to people who want to book or change their ressies if they aren't satisfied.

I was just on the dis chat and someone said the new menu will be out 3/1 and only dinner will be changing!!! I'm sooo happy about that because that means the fillet will stay on the lunch menu!!!

I think it's an absolute disservice by WDW not to release the menu prior to March 1st. If I were holding an ADR I would like to know what choices I'm going to be offered for my now 2ts or my increased OOP expenses. I guess they have their reasons, I'm just having a difficult time understanding it. :confused3

We are having dinner on March 7th but also have ressies for lunch the next week so I know at least i will get my mushroom filet at least once! I hope they have the menu available by March 1st because we leave the next day!! I always look forward to eating at Le Cellier but if the menu does not look great I hate to use 2TS for it!!

Hi Sunny

rumors abound, March 1 is when the change occurs and rumor is menu for lunch won't change. BUt the more i think about it, i am thinking we will see more casual fare at lunch and then signature dining options at dinner

all guesses for now :wizard:

We must remember most people go to a restaurant having no idea what's on the menu. Only we obsessive planners scour menus months in advance. The average guest won't need a menu, until they sit down to dinner, or check the outside board. LC could pretty much fill up with walk-ins only.

I hope for everyone's sake they keep the mushroom filet on the lunch menu, but I would assume that was the item that prompted the switch to 2 TS in the first place. That's a high priced entree for 1 TS. I suppose they could lessen the quality (if that's even possible), or make it a smaller cut. Let's hope they find a happy medium, so those going for lunch can still get their favorites. I don't think anyone should be shocked to see it disappear though.

I was wondering about that too!! I won't use 2 TS for it but I do have a lunch ADR!

According to WDW, it says nothing about the lunch menu changing, just the dinner one. Nothing says that lunch can't change but there are a lot of options at Chefs De France (for example) that are higher in price and that is still a 1 TS. At Teppan Edo, if you get a combo, that is also more expensive than the filet at LC and still 1 TS so we'll hope for the best that they keep lunch the same or have something similar!

**Effective March 1, 2011, dinner at Le Cellier Steakhouse will be elevated to a Signature dining experience, offering an exciting new menu that will change seasonally and an expanded wine list.***

This is only my opinion and my thoughts...

I would not be expecting the lunch menu to stay the same. If I had a reservation, I would go into it with the thought that the menu may change and I would not expect any item to be on it. This way, if it doesn't change, it could be fine... but it would also be fine if it did change.

But that is just the way I approach many things. Plan for the worse and hope for the best. This way I can't be disappointed.

Hi Pumbaa, I agree with the pp there are alot of 1 credit places that offer the fillet. Isn't the NY Strip more expensive @ LeCellier. I could be wrong. I figure there going to have offer a steak @ lunch it's a steakhouse after all!! I have to make ards on 2/26. I wish I know for sure about the fillet on the lunch menu. It's my son's absolute favorite restaurant and dish. Maybe i should book a lunch and dinner ther and then if lunch has the fillet after the menu comes out i'll cancel the dinner. This way i'm covered. I hate to spend 2 credits on something that 6 months ago was only one. We'll see. I have to do my itinerary this weekend to see where adrs will fit.

Personal prediction: As Le Cellier is billed as a steakhouse, I would find it hard to believe that the lunch menu wouldn't offer a decent steak. It wouldn't surprise me, however, to hear that portion sizes were reduced somewhat.

I'm expecting that it's going to be more of upgrades to the dinner menu than downgrades to the lunch menu.

We'll see.

There are some who would debate there is not a decent steak on the menu now. :lmao:

I agree with you about them offering a steak. But I have a gut feeling the infamous Mushroom Filet is not going to be on the lunch menu. If they have this on the dinner menu and offer it on the lunch as well, even in smaller portions, it may have a negative effect for dinner ADR's, especially if the Mushroom Fillet is unchanged other than now costing 2 credits.

I have to agree with a pp; I think that WDW is really going to shock some people with a totally different lunch menu. Just having WDW keep this menu such a mystery and not releasing what the menu is going to look like would have me concerned. JMHO. ;)

What times does LC switch from Lunch to Dinner?
Will it change on 3/1?

I believe it is still 11:30-3:00 for lunch and 4-9 for dinner. And yes, 3/1 Le'Cellier will be a signature restaurant on that day and the mystery will be revealed as to the coveted secret of it's menu. ;)

One of the DVC cast members I talked to a month or so ago was a Le Cellier nut, and when I told her about going to Le Cellier for my 45th birthday (March 26th, please send gift cards), she started talking about specific items on the new menu.

I was so into the conversation, I forgot to write things down, but from what I recall the new menu was well worth it. I'd love to order the venison, but my girls wouldn't let me eat Bambi.

My suggestion would be to politely ask next time you call Disney. Some cast members know, some don't.

We have a dinner ADR for Le Cellier in March and we aren't too concerned about seeing the menu first. We're not going there for any specific entree, although the filet that we had last time was quite good. We check the menus online quite often and find that they aren't always accurate or up to date so we're ready to go with the flow.

JUST got off the phone with a DVC cast member. If you ask them, they can pull up the new menu and read it off to you. I asked, but they can't email it to you.

There are some old favourites (mushroom fillet), some better cuts of meat, and some new items (roasted venison, roasted duck).

Interesting... Hopefully someone on the dis will take a pic and post it as soon as it comes out. :thumbsup2

GREAT!:cool1: We are going for lunch and I'm really looking forward to my fillet.

Yeah I think we'll just go for lunch in September. We don't need anything too fancy and if they have the filet at lunch that's all I care about (and soup of course!). I don't want to waste 2 TS on it.
