We found a great deal on laminate floor now i need info. on how best to clean it?
Has any one tried the H2O or shark steamers and which one did you like better?
Can anyone recomend a good electric sweeper that won't scratch the floor?

Thanks for any help i'm just so happy that the UGLY vinyl tile will be gone soon.

We have the laminate flooring thoughout most of our house.. we also have the Shark steamer for the tile floors we have..LAMINATE FLOORING CANNOT GET WET.!! we have the flooring that clicks together without the glue..my husband damp mops it with the wonder mop and puts a little cleanser in the water but he squeezes the mop so dry I always wonder if he's cleaning good. I first go over it with a dry swiffer, then he mops it. THE FOOR WILL PICK UP AND I KNOW THAT AS WE HAD A LEAK IN LAST YEARS TROP STORM FAYE AND WE HAD TO REPLACE A $1000. WORTH OF FLOOR. WE were lucky that only half the dining room got ruined cause we have the living room and bedroom done and they are big rooms. it looks very beautiful but I really wish we had done tile as I think it would have held up better in the climate we we live..any ? please ask..good luck ..marianne :goodvibes

I have tried every cleaner out there on my laminate floors. The only thing that works great is vinegar and water. Just put it in a spray bottle. It does not leave a film on the floor.

I second the vinegar and water or Swiffer Wets. Laminate is really easy to care for.

I too have laminate flooring and used to use vinegar and water, but it always left water spots - our floor is a mahogany color. So I tried a product by Bruce made for laminate floors. It works great for me. Only use a damp mop - swiffer style - and spray it on. I now have beautiful gleaming floors.

This is not real expensive and I buy it at Lowe's. I am sure any other home improvement store would carry it. Might be worth a shot. I too am afraid of trying the steam mops as I cannot afford to buy a new floor!

I use my mop and vinegr and water. Once it's clean I do the towel shuffle (stand on towel and shuffle over the floor) until dry. That way there are no water spots.

We had Pergo brand laminate flooring installed in our house when we purchased it. That was nine years ago. It was before the snap together type so ours the glued type. To clean it we buy Pergo cleaner in the spray bottle from Home Depot. This stuff gets anything off our floor, even Sharpie permanent marker. Its not sticky, doesn’t leave streaks and evaporates quickly.

We now have a dog running in and out so to make it easier we purchased the H2O mop. This works well, doesn’t seem to dry as fast as on the infomercial. If you go this route, buy extra of the cloth pads.

As far as your question about sweepers and scratching, we use the vacuum hose and attachments or just a broom. I was initially concerned about scratches in the beginning. Our oldest was a toddler and we experienced scratches of our wood floors in the previous house. Nine years later and three kids, these floors have held up well and no scratches.

Thanks for the help as this is a large area Kitchen/Dinning room(not a small investment even at 1/2 price)so i thought if there was an easy to use machine for mopping like a vacuum the floor would get cleaned more offen.

I was also looking into a swivel sweeper any one have one of these?

Thanx
Melinda
