New kiddies rides at Sea World

Sounds great, thanks Debbie :thumbsup2

I didn't realise they had so many attractions aimed at kids in Seaworld. It's the park that i've looked into least, as i've been assuming there wasn't much except animal shows and animal viewing. I knew about Kraken, but thought that was the only 'ride' they really had.

Definitely looking forward to it more now :)

Looks like Sea World will be a definite 'must' in April then. I knew they had opened a couple of kiddy rides there last year but didn't realise they'd added more - thanks Deb :thumbsup2

It is a nice enough area, we took our DD4 and DD19mo there last month, a couple of the new rides were not open but we did go on the Shamu coaster. Sorry to burst bubbles but it was about 30 seconds long, very hard plastic ride cars with no cushioning, very jerky and both me and my daughter banged our head hard (we were in the front car) I also thought it was quite unsafe, as the lap bar came down to my lap my daughter was hardly held in and as we went into the first bend she nearly came out :scared1: she still loved it though.
Went had the teacup ride to ourselves - standard teacup stuff! Surprisingly our DD19mo wasn't allowed on much, even the huge enclosed the bouncy castle style thingy :confused3 (even though there were no other children in sight). The water fountains had signs with strict guidlines (unlike at disney) including no children of diaper age! and no bare feet :confused3 There is a huge climbing structure, we didn't go in - eldest didn't fancy it as her sister wasn't allowed. There is an enclosed sand area and small playground area for little ones. There are standard revenue generators like remote control boats and cars. There is an area with about ten steel drums - my girls loved them - just like the bongos in AK, couldn't get them away from both!
The rides that were under construction could be seen and looked pretty standard "fairground" types.
We didn't spend more than about 30mins in the area. In no way would I pitch it against Fantasyland or Seuss Landing like the Sentinel have oh no no no - it's more like UK seaside rides.....

Deb, thanks for this info, I am trying to keep up with what there is for the little ones, although I am little dissapointed by PoppyAnna's review, worth a trip though eh!

Hi T16GEM,
You will be surprised what you can get on with your little 'uns. A (jealous, I think) friend of mine questioned our choice of holiday after visiting Legoland late last year with her two children that are the same age as mine as her girls couldn't get on anything! Legoland is hardly in the same league as WDW, Universal and Seaworld etc..! When I was trip planning I read lots of reviews from people who said it's a waste of money taking pre-schoolers to WDW as they can't get on anything, they get too tired etc etc. Rubbish!
Head straight for Fantasyland at MK, you can do the lot there :cloud9: The playhouse Disney show at MGM was great fun, even though we don't have the Playhouse Disney channel and they only knew Bear in the Big Blue house! Our girls loved the shows the most and the simplest of things like the kidcot fun stops in EPCOT, the bongo drums at Animal Kingdom and the playgrounds and water fountains that are dotted around are an absolute winner! and of course, the characters! For non-Disney they loved curious George's playground at Universal.
Good luck with your planning. :thumbsup2

Our DD5 loved the Happy Harbour play area. She spent an hour in the large climbing structure while my mum and I watched her play and relaxed with a nice cold drink!:goodvibes

There were only 3 rides when we were there (October 2006) and although I agree they were "standard" kiddie rides, little ones still love them!;)

The Shamu coaster is short - DD wanted to go on again (and again)! FYI - there is a photo op on the ride. Can't remember how much the photos were - I'm guessing somewhere around $10, though.

sounds great for Kai - he'l be 4 when we go - I'm just hoping the 8mth old and I will be able to do some things!!

There is a photo op on the ride and guess what! I thought it was the best ride photo I'd seen the whole trip. It just shows the two of you per ride car, no more anons in the background!

From what I have read on the families board babies can go on anything that there isn't a height restriction for. Harley will be 11 months so I am hoping that he will go on a lot of things with us too! But having said that that is why we are taking the Grandparents with us - they can sit out with Nanny if they want to!

Looks like Sea World will become a two-day even in the future for us. I like the place more and more. But I think that's as I get older...

I think we usually go for a couple of days if we can or at least a day and a half anyway! There's so much to see and do there now that there's no way that you can get round it all in a day anymore.
