New June - Team Hakuna Matata!

Erica glad your first night back was a good one ... rest & ice those little toes today! pixiedust:

Lynn - Yikes...Take Care!!!! :flower3: Hope you are feeling better today. Those little falls can be very serious. My DD got a concussion slipping and falling off my deck (3 steps) a couple of weeks ago. Scraped up the side of her face and a major terrible headache for a week.

:hippie: I have to push myself a lot! Hanging on looking forward to the WAY to short of a mini vacation trip to WDW in January 2009 :donald:

Free weights for lower body went well at the gym last night. :goodvibes

Hagen & I did 3.4 miles this morning ... 82 degrees, humid, HOT... very thankful for the steady breeze! Oops...did make a stop at a Yard Sale and purchased a couple of books for Hagen ::yes::

BunnyFoo: I am not good in temps above 70 it was a challenge to keep moving this morning. - BUT I knew tonight would be worse! :worried:

June Goal: 200 miles - combined walking & biking

Scott once upon a time in a different life.....:rolleyes1

Lynn, wow princess, that would have been scary. I of course would have fallen in the paint, spashed it all over the dog and then the dog would have gone in another room to shake.:faint:

Margie, Hi sweet lady. It would certainly be hot for you here this week.

Erica is sleeping away. It was fun holding her till she fell asleep.

Kim, how are you and Mike doing?

Walking Panda:hippie:

Happy Friday everyone! Is it super hot where you are today? In Toronto, it's about 31C but feels like 41C or in Farenheit 86/106 :scared1: It's days like this that make me wish I had a pool or at least access to a pool! In the meantime, I'll just have to settle for an iced green tea :)

Lynn - Hope you're doing okay! That's pretty scary

Margie - I tried to get up this morning but just didn't have enough time for any kind of exercise before I had to go to work. It looks like I'll be indoors on the treadmill again!

Have a great weekend everyone and keep cool!! :goodvibes

I'm at work and bored as can be. My boss took a three day weekend and while it's a nice break I'd almost rather be busy to make the time move. I've been looking at my training schedule and Disney menus for our upcoming trip. Food and running. Ugh...the story of my life.

:surfweb:

Erica - Hope you're doing well with going back to work!

Lynn - I am terrified of ladders and climbing in general. My heart was racing when I read about your fall. I hope your wrist is ok!!

Dave - Good for you with the hills...I HATE them! I know they are necessary to prepare me for races, but I'm serious...I hate them.

Margie - I'd love to start lifting more. I used to lift alot back in high school. The weight area of my red is so intimidating though! You'll be all toned up and ready for your "mini vacation" for sure!

Vicky - Back to your beginning post, I'm also on a weight loss challenge..the same one I've been on for 6 years. LOL. I'm a member of weight watchers and have been hovering around goal for months. Literally within half a pound multiple times then for no reason at all I gain. I've been on my best behavior the last 3 weeks and have gained 3 lbs!! I think my body is adjusting to starting my training back up. Keep up the training and eat healthy and we can both lose some inches this month!!

:surfweb: Did someone say, "Weight loss"??? What's that??? Oh yeah, that's what our dear Panda did!

I have been spending a lot of time on my computer, :surfweb: unfortunately it hasn't been fun time! There is a new format for submitting invoices and it doesn't work. Why oh why, do IT guys think the rest of us should be responsible for testing their systems!! Why can't they test them BEFORE they make them a problem for everyone????? :guilty: :faint:

I am sooooooo glad that I have a break next week! Maybe, I will just drop these darn invoices off at their office while I am in Denver! At least that would make it tax deductible! :rotfl2:

Erica I hope you feel better and better! Sometimes, going back to work is a relief!

Lynn Hope your wrist is fine! pixiedust:

Well, back to the grindstone.
Happy Weekend to everyone!

Hi guys, happy Saturday.

Today is a rest day so I just went to the pool for a half hour of sprints in the 5' deep section and then a half hour of stretching and calistetics in the water. This workout always makes me feel good, tired but good.

Margie, how is your little prince dealing with the heat? I know for you northern folk that this is a big change. Kentucky is blessed with moderate winters but summer is every bit as tropical as Florida, we get beat out of our ocean though.

I don't mind the humidity, it cleans the pores right? Isn't that why we do steam rooms and sauna? We have our own right outside the door here. I have my schedule so I can train in the mornings before the heat gets to bad.

Kim I hope Mikes PF gets under control soon.

Lynn, how is your wrist today?

Connie sounds like you have your hands full right now.

All our other Pretty Princesses and Scott, have a wonderfull weekend.

Walking Panda:hippie:

:hippie: I was in a sauna once. I did not stay and it was not because of the lady that chose to go topless. :scared1:

Michigan is HOT and Humid...and of course, I do care one little bit for it. :(

I did some weight thing at the gym that caused WAY sore leg muscles!
I wanted to get some miles in for the Team today, but No Can Do...so I am heading in to soak in Epsom Salts. I don't think my muscles were this sore after walking the Marathon! No, I am not kidding :(

Lynn, how are you feeling today? pixiedust:

Connie, is life getting back to a normal schedule? pixiedust:

Erica pixiedust:

Villain_Rocks, I do like the weight training, but I keep stressing to the trainer mine is for toning NOT for building...Yikes it's a scary thing :scared1:

Connie, will PM my miles & time as soon as I finish this post ::yes::

Thanks Guys , Lynn is doing well.

Well it was a nice day here. Got the south bedroom ready for the carpet on Thursday. Finished up mowing the lawn, cooled off and is cloudy right now. Lynn will get the trim painted this week and we will get that done next weekend.

Will try to get in a run tomorrow morn before breakfast, then have a couple of hour drive to give a presentation to some HS teachers, Should be fun. We got enough stuff done today so Lynn can go with me, that will be nice. I have the presentations on a thumb drive and two computers, se I really trust computers, LOL.

Jimmy Buffett concert to night on Sirius and Radio Margaritaville, Burgers on the grill .

Good evening Team!

My wrist is fine today, so is the bruise on my butt!!! The scrapes on my elbow are starting to itch a bit - means it is healing - right?!

Connie, I will get our times added up when I get off here, and get them posted to you. I was thinking about it earlier, then got sidetracked (a regular problem with me).

I often seem to lose weight when I am not exercising, and gain it when I exercise???? It is VERY frustrating!!!

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Lynn

Up early and out for a three mile run, nice temp, Lynn got the pups for a walk.

Cool and cloudy.

Gotta go teach teachers this morn so I better take a shower or I'll get detention.

Hello, Team!!!!

DH and I are back from a week in beautiful Pagosa Springs, Colorado. What a gorgeous place! I was NOT ready to come home, but.....only four days at work this week and Connie will be here and we'll head up to Denver for the weekend and a 10k! DH and I did some hiking and bicycling. One hike was only about 3 miles, but it was over 1000 feet UP, so I think it should count for more miles! LOL! ;)

I haven't had time to even read, much less post. The two weeks before vacation were just nuts at work :badpc: and I don't think that's going to get any better. In fact, we're looking at starting overtime July 1. It's a challenge to work overtime and still work out properly. BUT - I've done it before so there's really no reason I can't do it again. Of course, I've said that about my weight for the last 5 months, too, and I have hardly lost a thing.....

Erica, I'm glad to hear you're back at work! Kim and Mike, sorry to hear you're not at your best! Margie, as always, you're managing to get lots more done than the average bear! Dave, still on track! Good going! Vicky and Villain's Rock - nice to "see" you! Lynn and Scott - still working on that house, huh? Never ending job, these houses. Connie, looking forward to seeing you soon!

Everyone, keep up the good work!

and the walls and such.

We have finally reached the 90's here in NH and I hate the heat! Mark and I did 4 miles yesterday, my legs felt great. We started at 7:30am which was later than I wanted but oh well.

Then we worked again in the living room. We had the small hallway to sand the floor and I have never sweat so much in my life. We proceeded to stain the floor and that took about an hour to do - god only knows when it will dry!

It's very depressing living in a mess for weeks on end but the light is at the end of the tunnel, the furniture is in and will be delivered on Saturday so I can start to set up the room Ya hoo!

Sorry my miles for the month of May is down but that will be better soon since we're almost done the construction.

I can't wait to be able to post more and not just when I have a moment here at work.

Have a good week, the worst is already over for me!

Miss you guys.

denise

Denise we can relate to the construction, will it ever end LOL

I am thinking about taking a week off work to make some major progress an the project.

I felt like crud this morning, just wipped.

Good Morning Team!

It looks like a nice day here, high should be only about 70 degrees, but that is warmer than it was all weekend, and the rain seems to have left us for awhile. Now, just the summer forecast of chance of afternoon or evening thundershowers is in the picture.

Now that weather is decent, I need to catch up on my training - it was windy all weekend, and raining all last week. I also have alot of painting to do - but none on the scaffolding :rotfl2: it is all trim and doors. Will need to get all that done before carpet installers arrive on Thurs!

Kathy - which 10K are you doing in Denver? We have too much planned for the weekend to go, but we could put it on the list for next year if it is a good one.

Have a great day!

Hot and Humid in Michigan also...along with Severe Thunder Storm Warnings and high Winds. Unless the weather improves drastically I will not be taking my precious little guy out today. :scared1:

Leg muscles were not as sore so I did get a Upper Body gym workout in after church yesterday before going to the movies to see the Chronicles of Narnia -Prince Caspian. Oblivious to the storms that canceled our evening Worship Service.

Lynn your comment: I often seem to lose weight when I am not exercising, and gain it when I exercise???? It is VERY frustrating!!! I can so relate to this... WHY :confused3

Thanks, Kathy! :goodvibes

Everyone, stay cool and hydrated in these very hot and humid day! ::yes::

Everyone, stay cool and hydrated in these very hot and humid day! ::yes::

That is SO TRUE. I was feeling dizzy here at work and estimated how much I had sweat yesterday and how much fluid I took in after the floor work:

1 - Wine Cooler
2 - 8 oz of water
3- 2 cups of coffee - this morning
4 - 1/2 blood pressue pill......which will reduce my fluid.

That would be why I was dizzy. Got a bottle of water and will not go out at lunch today. Yes I'm a whimp but I know my limitations.

DRINK UP and we should be using water!

d

Denise I think wine coolers are excellent for hydration. Are you guys going to the ToT? We will have some of those Vodka cooler drinks at the party after. Along with some good beer and wine. That will be at the BWV pool as soon as you finish the race.

Kathy, welcome back pretty stranger. We thought an Arab Shiek had seen you and kidnapped you for his harum.

Yes Margie the heat and humidity is here. But I look at it this way, I train on the hills and in the heat and humidity. That is my strength becasue come race day I perform well in those conditions.

Scott and Lynn, I wish I had the gene for building and fixing. I can mortally screw things up like a champ though. It always cost more to have a pro come in and repair my "fixes".

Connie I envy you guys going to Colorado for the race, sounds like a wonderfull time.

Everyone have an awesome day and remember that there is more to you that even you realize.

Walking Panda:hippie:

I felt better after lunch, and started the painting - then I fell off the scaffolding we have set up in the room, it was not much of a fall, it is only around 2.5 feet high - and I landed on my well padded butt, scraped up my elbow, and did something to my wrist.
I was getting caught up on posts and saw yours. I remember before the 1/2 last year, I fell a couple of times including the day of the race, Once on the track, once on ice and then on an expansion joint at the beginning of the 1/2

All I could think of each time was, Thank God I didn't injury my legs!

Actually, that is the day Miranda is getting married! So I will be drinking and dancing the night away! But thanks for the offer! She will be checking into the BW on Sunday the 26th using mom's points for her disneymoon.

denise

I was good got home and did a three mile run. Feel muchas better.

Pretty good day at work put a few loose ends together.

Lynn is a painting fool. I also found enough trim tile for the bar, you all will have to come out for a drink, when we get it done.
