New Jersey Week

Hi. I was just wondering how busy New Jersey week really is. This year it is Nov 9-11. I was wanting to go Nov 10-15. This will be my parents first time back in 13 years! Thoughts please.

The first two days of your trip will be very busy, but then crowds will drop quite a bit! Your dates are falling on Veterans Day weekend, so many kids have days off, making a three day weekend. Not just Jerseyan kids filling the parks that weekend. But on Novemer 12th, many people start to leave, so crowds really start going down then. Have fun!

I agree. When we went a few years ago, Election day was early, and that seemed to be the busiest day. Other than that we found the crowds pretty manageable. Just aviod MGM on the weekend. It is ABC soap weekend and that brings crowds to that park.

We were there during Jersey Week last Nov (didn't know it was Jersey week when we booked it) and it was VERY VERY crowded.

I'm from New Jersey and I can vouch that EVERYONE here travels during that time of year.

Its because that week not only is Election Day and Veterans Day, but its teachers convention week throughout the whole state. So that means that many teachers and students will be off from school, so they take vacations then so they don't have to miss any school.

This includes my boyfriend, who is a teacher, hence why we are taking a vacation during that very week.

I think you'll be fine though...you'll only have crowds for the first two days and then it should thin out. Plus, I don't think there are really many times when Disney isn't crowded.

ALl New Jersey schools are closed for a statewide teachers' conference on the Thursday and Friday nearest Veterans Day, November 11.

In 2007, Veterans Day is on a Sunday, so unless I'm really misguided here, NJ schools will be closed on Thu. November 8 and Fri. November 9.

I'm from New Jersey and I can vouch that EVERYONE here travels during that time of year.

I think there is another time of year that New Jersians visit.........end of August. I'm not kidding when I say, when we were there the last two weeks of August this year, 95% of everyone we talked to was either from the New England area, New York(like us ) or New Jersey.

I kept telling myself that I thought November was the big week in NJ, but there were tons of people from that state. I felt like I was in the Northeast, only with palm trees and a heat wave.

Just a little tidbit of info...more Disney guests come from New Jersey than from anywhere else!!! Everyone is so tense all the time over here...we need Disney to mellow us out a bit!
