New Japan Restaurant

Just made ADRs for our week in late sept. and was informed that the Teppanyaki restaurant in Japan is being replaced by new owners. The restaurant is closing in July and will reopen on September 20. The new name of the teppanyaki restaurant will be Teppan Edo.

By the way, I saw a comment that ADRs are booked up for september. Disney is running a promo for late july thru late september, where if you book a 7 night stay, you get the dining plan free. The promo ended June 24, but that may be why dining is so booked.

Are you sure about that reopen date? I have An ADR on Aug 29th and was told about the name change, but that they are reopened by that time? Can someone confirm this?

I thought it was just undergoing a rehab.

The free dining actually starts in August and you only had to book a 3 night stay. It's discussed a lot on the dining plan board if you are interested.

Teppanyaki Restaurant in Epcot's Japan pavillion will be closed for a major rehab April 15 through August 20, 2007. NOTE: Restaurant is scheduled to open a few days earlier than previously announced. This rehab has been rescheduled several times now -- and may change again. Check back to make sure of dates. (Originally reported dates were January 15 - May 25, 2007, then March 11 through July 14.)

According to the person we spoke to at wdw-dine, the restaurant will be under new management. Teppan Edo is the new name, the opening dates I may be wrong, but I would call and check on it.

Is the resteraunt still going to be habachi? They aren't changing the menus are they? We love this resteraunt and it is my DS6 fav place to eat at epcot. Please tell me that it is still habachi!!!!
