new items released(10-12)

Forgive me, but I'm having a little trouble wrapping my head around this seance argument. Has this scene in the HM not been delighting guests since 1969? Why would they have to stop and think about releasing seance pins since it's obviously a famous and well-loved scene in a classic attraction? Should they get rid of the Madame Leota ball and her books/tarot cards too? I understand that some people are weirded out by seances, and that's fine. But to think that VMK is somehow 'in the wrong' for having pins based on it seems odd to me. Anything that is portrayed in the real Magic Kingdom should be considered fair game for VMK.

BTW, I really don't care for the pin either. But only because it's such a boring design.

Exactly. If you are offended by these pins please think twice about riding the Haunted Mansion at the parks.

I was really surprised that they didnt release brown cowboy since they released black and red cowboy last halloween. Maybe later today they might add black or brown? :confused3
Same thought. I was hoping..... Only piece of vmk clothing I have yet to find a way to get my little virtual hands on. Oh well. Credits saved, I suppose. :upsidedow

...the green FLIP HAT is gone!!!
Together now.... "Finally!" hehe, they were here forever!

I agree it definately has to do with Haunted Mansion. And with that said goes with the pins from the first series. I just think it is an iffy area that they did not think through before they made them. Too many people not liking anything to do with seances. They could have made one seance and others like the foot steps in the attic, a pic of the haunted mansion on a pin, a pin that says there is room for one more etc. How about the stretching room scenes. See there were other ways to go. And maybe if the pins did not say seance that too could make a difference. Just saying trumpet from Haunted mansion.

I know it is my choice not to collect them but it means that I will never ever have a full set of pins. It also looks like there are a few in the same boat too. I am ok with that.

I totally agree Belle.. Infact that is one of the ideas they might go with the new pins this month or more bats and spiders and stuff. I think that doing like footsteps in the attack or anything like that would have been much more cooler to have it in the same series?? But again just my way of thinking!

That was my thought as well. People have posted that it looks like a "New Orleans" pin; it could certainly have been left up to player interpretation with a more general label.

I agree. They are only following the theme of the Haunted Mansion.
True, these pins refer to the Madame Leota scene from the Haunted Mansion. I guess some of us would rather not identify ourselves with the real-world terminology associated with it.

This doesn't necessarily have any correlation with a person's enjoyment of the Haunted Mansion. Disney's attractions tend to put a rose-colored hue on the "dark side" of things. (Huge example: Pirates of the Caribbean with happy rollicking pirates!) In my case, the philosophical impact gets softened somewhat while I concentrate on other aspects of the ride.

What I feel myself, and am hearing from others is that VMK's "seance" label makes this pin series seem, well, unDisnified. This is purely a personal reaction; anyone else's mileage may vary. :p

Well, we've seen once before that VMK will, on occasion, change the names of some of their pins. If all you're concerned about is the names, what if you skip these pins now only to find out that VMK renames the pins next month? You will have missed out on several pins.

That's not to say I don't understand where you're all coming from, because I do. I'm just pointing out that pin titles can be changed.

Good point. If they had great graphics, I might be tempted to hang onto some pins. As it is, this just gives me more of an excuse to save those credits for other Halloween stuff. ;)

I guess Nobody noticed that the green FLIP HAT is gone!!!

Hehe.. should have bought a few more i guess

It is?
It was moved to the clothing section last week. Is it gone from there?

As for the pins, I liked the one from last week. This one is ... eh... it's just OK. Stuff about seances don't bother me.

**Edit: The hat is gone.

...Note about the Native American / Cowboy boots/shoes that I have not seen mentioned: If you put them on with any pants other than cowboy pants they are sort of moccasin-like. If you put them on with the cowboy pants, a little spur appears from the back of the boot...
Really? I thought the Spur was always there... I'll have to check that out...
Hmm... Tested the theory and spurs were still there... at least while wearing blue Typhoon shorts.

just moving this up so it's easier to find for Sunday night shopping..... once we can get back in :wizard:
