*NEW INFO* Summer 2002 ~ DISMeet Paramount Canada's Wonderland

That sounds like a great idea, Sandra. I've never been, but DSs have been twice. DH usually gets his holidays the last week of July, first week of August, so we might be away then. When did you have in mind? Oldkicker mentioned that he is interested in coming up from the States again with his family, for a summer meet in Toronto.

We are game anytime for Wonderland. We have seasons passes, went 29 times last year. The water park is cool and it's expanding this season! They allow you to bring in picnic lunches so that's a bonus! Chat soon! S

I'd be up for that meet!! We also get seasons passes, so any time should be good for us.
Great idea!!
Karen

Hi Karen! Aren't PCW season's passes the best! We only pay for 3, dh, dd(8) and me, ds is only 2 years old. dd and I will go on EVERYTHING, dh liked holding the purses LOL! The best thing about passes is the flexibilities to come and go as you please. We can spend 3 hours or 6 hours, just go to the water park somedays too. Last year my goal was to go 10 times, we went 29! WE SHOULD PLAN THE PCW DISNEY MEET AROUND "E R U P T I O N!" Have you seen it! I liked it waaaaaaaay better than last years Illuminations! I think ERUPTION runs the last two weeks in August.

Yes, I LOVED "the Eruption". There really isnt much at Wonderland comparable to Disney, but I think the Eruption is. That would be a fun meet! Now the logistics...hhhmmmmmm? Where, when and all that neat stuff! :)

See that's the great thing about season's passes. If you plan something and it pours rain, you go home and return the next day.

August can be raining.

I think the DIS folks would love ERUPTION (if it's still around this season).

We can play little games on comparing Disney rides to PCW rides.

A picnic is nice.

The water park is great! New stuff this year.

For GTA folks it's okay, they can get a hand stamp and return in the evening.

HUUUUMMMMM....more thought.

I'm game for that! I love Eruption last summer, it was awsome! I don't have a season pass but my friend gets a great discount on tickets so I pay less than half of the orginal cost.

My family would join for a meet, it would be fun. Count us in.

Sometime to think about, there are great GROUP DISCOUNT! Last year if you got 15 people in a group on one specific day you only paid $25.00 per ticket, that's half price and includes shows and water park! But you need to prepay. I have seasons passes so would not get this ticket, however, someone might think about organizing this type of group discount. It would be a lot of work coordinating, but you guys are awesome and I know it would be organized amazing!

We get free tickets every year so we are good for passes we just need to know when and Lisa can take the time off work we always go on a week day find it more geared to us than anything so if it is when people take vacations that is fine as we can just book a day off work I don't mind

If ERUPTION is still going on this year, it's worth seeing! I think last year it ran the last two weeks in August about 9pm (maybe 10pm, can't recall). The park opens at 10am, but I think the water park opens at 11am and closes at 8pm. Things to consider in making a date:

1) Eruption, late night
2) Early is great for few lines
3) Weekend/Weekday
4) Early summer/ mid summer / late summer /Fall

Think about this and reply with your thoughts, we are good for anything (unless on vacation, still no determined dates).

Of course we can have a picnic meeting! There is an area for meetings, not sure if we need to pre-book ~ I'll look into that closer to opening in May.

THX! Sandra

Dh is on vacation Aug 5-9 so any day is fine, if on a weekend any time is fine. Keep me posted-I'm sure I can work something out.

I'm getting a seasons pass for canadas Wonderland this year, and i'd love to go there for a meet.. i think it'd be great! :)

I just checked the PCW web site and there is NO Eruption listed this summer. I emailed them about it and will let you know! Sandra

SpecialFXKids: We used our seasons passes last year 29 times, that's 23% of the time! We went a couple times a week! It was really fun during those super hot summer days ~ we'd pack a picnic lunch, arrive at 10am, go on favourite rides until 11am, head to the water park, 11am - 12pm go on all the cool water slides, 12pm have lunch, sit around lazing in the hot sun relaxing by the wave pool until about 2pm and go home! It was toooo cool! We even got MIL to babysit the kids one night and just dh and I went to get on height restricted rides like TOP GUN and SKYRIDER that we usually didn't do with the kids. A couple times just dh, dd and I went leaving the baby at home with MIL. Lots of times dd and I would go at night with a couple of moms and daughters! It was way fun! Totally can't wait for this year! Lots of cool new things in the water park! Sandra

Since i'm getting a seasons pass, any day will be great for me and my girlfriend. Well, anyday but the last week of august, we're going to Disney World then. :)

Got new info ~ no ERUPTION this year. Only fireworks on Victoria Day and Canada Day.

Last year, in the season's pass newsletter, there were several discount days, tickets were only $19.99 and sometimes even free parking or discount parking coupons. I believe there were a couple weekends in June and I know there the last two weekends or three weekends had discount coupons (that's would be the last couple weekend of Sept and first weekend or two in Oct). The weather is great then, but no water parks. Lines are very short. Last year it took a go time for the weather to get warm. I recall very cool May mornings at Wonderland.

If we pick coupon weekend (June, Sept, Oct) we season's pass holders can get folks in for a great deal! Since dh and I bought our passes at different times, we both rec'd newsletters ~ so we can get 12 people in at $19.99 (I think some days were $24.99 ~ but that's a great price too). Each coupon allowed 6 people in. I asked last year if the season's pass holder had to be present to use the coupon and YES they do. So if SpecialFXkid gets season's passes with one newsletter, that's 6 more people at discounted tickets. 18 people total seems like the amt of folks who would come out. We could meet for breakky before hand to distribute coupons and discount/free parking passes. dh works beside PCW so he can scout out breakky restaurants, or even a coffee shop or McDonalds. There aren't any Tim Hortons in the area ~ weird eh? Chat soon! Sandra ~ 35 days to WDW! YIPPY!
