New Info on VMK Pin/Card sets

Merchandise Value Shipping Charge to Canada
$0.01 to $20.00 $10.00
$20.01 to $30.00 $25.00
$30.01 to $40.00 $40.00
$40.01 to $60.00 $50.00
$60.01 to $100.00 $75.00
$100.01 to $250.00 $100.00
$250.01 to $500.00 $125.00
$500.01 to $1000.00 $150.00
Add $10.00 For Each Additional $100.00 over $1000

I am so thankful I have friends in the US to buy me pins. If I bought just two pins for 28.00 the cost to Ship to Canada 25.00 if that does not include tax it will be $40.00 to ship 2 tiny boxes with 4 pins. You have to be crazy. Why does Disney do this to us.

OK best case example is $53.00 US
or worst case example is $68.00 US for four pins now that is robbery

So when you see the person on ebay selling this same set for 25.00 instead of 15.00 it is for the poor folk that can not afford to pay the absolutely ridiculous shipping costs from Disney.

I like those shipping rates. What did you search for? I couldn't find the pirate pins.

Hi,
I posted this on another thread but will put a copy here to give insight to the whole Ebay thing:

Hi,

Some insight since I have been selling on Ebay for many years-not VMK items I sell fabric.

What that seller is doing is allowed. He states that it is a pre-sale which is done all the time. I myself do not sell something unless it is in my hands but that is my policy. He is legit in what he is doing.

Next his listing and selling fees on a $25 item is no where near $3.00. it is less then a $1.00. My guess is that this person will go to WDW and buy them directly. He will pay tax on the item but no shipping. So know lets say with tax a box is $15.50. He is making a profit of $9.50 per box.

Now the shipping. He is charging $5 to ship for first item and $2 for each item after that. He is making money off of that. There is a flat rate global priority envelope that I bet I could get at least 5 boxes in it (I get 8 yards fabric in 1) and it is $4.05 to ship that. There is also a flat rate prioroty box that is $8.10 to ship that I am sure could hold 25 or more boxes.

So let's use an example. Say you bought 5 boxes from this person it would break down like this:

5 x $25=$125
shipping 1st item $5.00 addtitoanl 4 items $8.00 total- $13.00

total to seller- $138

his cost-
5 boxes at $15.50- $77.50
sellers fees to ebay- $5.00

his shipping cost $5.00

total seller spent- $87.50

$138 - $87.50 = $50.50 profit per the 5 boxes or he is making $10.10 profit on every box he sells. May not sound like a lot but do it 40 times and it adds up.

Now on another note I buy items to and I will tell you that many sellers will charge you alot for shipping then send it the cheapest way possible and say the rest is a handling fee. I do not do this. I charge no handling fee and I only charge actual shipping costs. This is why I have so many repeat customers.

Now you may not think any of this is right but as long as there is someone willing to buy and pay for an item there will be someone there to sell it. I loved using EBay last year when we decided to do our first ever all Disney tree. I bought a lot of Disney lights, storybook ornaments and a tree topper that were no longer for sale. It is the worlds largest flea market.

Hi,
I went to the Official Disney Pin site where the new VMK pins are listed. I clicked on shipping and the picture below is the chart it gave me. Mine is different them Coasterguys so it just confuses me even more.

Here is the chart they showed:

disneyshipping.JPG

Anyone else here anything?

Thanks,
Bug

Looks like people who view this from the pin site will be in for a nasty
surprise, as this WAS the shipping charge schedule before the new changes.

Stephen's chart is the current HORRID shipping chart.

I just checked the pin page on Disney Shopping today, and the chart that Bugdozer posted was what I saw when I clicked on shipping. Am I missing something? Where did Stephen get his chart?

I received the same chart as Stephen's in an email directly from the WDW Mail Order service, in response to my inquiry about the pin orders.

It's possible that Mail Order hasn't caught up with the new "in park" rates. The list that Stephen has *IS* what they charge if you are standing in a shop at WDW. That new list is what came out and went into place about 2 weeks ago.

I sent email to wdw.mail.order@diwneyworld.com and asked about ordering multiple sets of pins, guess I could post the whole message if anyone's interested. Let me know.

Ok, I think I've finally figured out what's causing my confusion. I assumed that the pins would be available through the Disney Shopping website. That's where the shipping chart that was posted by Bugdozer is located.

But upon careful reading of the release info, the sets can only be ordered through the WDW Mail Order service, which is not the same thing as Disney Shopping:
To order this item:

This explains the discrepency between the shipping rates.

I didn't expect the pins to be in Disney Shopping, since you can only get the pin in the park. Disney Shopping doesn't sell in park items.

I can under stand those alaska and hawaii rates - I mean, they gotta pay the guy paddling the canoe ya know.
