New Info on new DCL ship Disney Dream

DH just called me in a panic. I thought he was hurt or something. Come to find out, he wanted me to logon to hear the 5:45 PM EST (4:45 CST) Live Webcast about the Disney Dream.

Patiently waiting on the next Webcast ...

OMG Way too exciting!!!!! I can't wait for 2011 to roll around. :yay::yay::yay:
She is going to be pretty!!!! :)

Well I love Crush 'n' Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon but I don't know about that Aqua Duck hanging over the edge of the ship though. :scared1:

Looks FAB!!!! :woohoo:

So Kevin, is the podcast booking going on the inaugural cruise or the one after? :dance3: :yay: :cool1: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

cheers,
:flower3:

Did anyone see the typo on Deck 11? Virtual Tour, Deck 11, Senses Spa Villas includes a verandah and a "hot tube" :rotfl:sounds relaxing to me....

Holy Moly!!! The Disney Dream is one out-of-this-world ship! I know what my DH and I will be doing for our 50th birthdays in 2011!! :cloud9:

Can't wait to have grandkids for them to experience the incredible nursery and kids' clubs! ;)

Cool ship.

I would most certainly fly through those tubes!

I like the virtual porthole for the frugal inside sailors. It can be turned off for night, or for the seasick.

I think from the side it looks rather "boxy". Most ships now look like this, like a hotel on a barge. Kinda disappointed that they couldn't give it more of a classic and elegant look of the classic ocean liners. I think that is what they did with the original two ships. Guess it is from the modular way they build the big ships.

Wow, I just looked through the photo gallery for the new ship... amazing!!!

I've never been on a Disney cruise (or any cruise for that matter) ... but I'm booked for the podcast cruise and now I want to book another cruise already, just to go on this cool looking ship!

:sunny:

For the first sailing, how many days is it?

I wonder if they are going to have two 4 day cruises back to back for the first week because the 26th is a Wednesday.

I want to be a kid and go play in there - it looks like so much fun :goodvibes

I'm guessing that beacuse it's much larger they had to go for that design. I would have thought the Titanic or similar would look like a tug boat in comparison to some modern ships :rotfl:
The BBC recently did a TV show about cruise liners around the last turn of the century - not sure if this link will work http://video.aol.co.uk/video-detail/time-shift-series-9-the-golden-age-of-liners/3356386343/?icid=VIDURVENT03
It was very interesting to see how it evolved from the elite and super rich - well aristocracy in those days - to the 'middle class' (I know there were plenty of working class in stearage which it also touches on) when the transatlantic route fell in popularity and they really started cruising!
