New info on Disney gift cards

Just wanted to let everyone know that I went into the Disney Store today to buy some Disney Dollars, and the lady who rang me up said that starting May 11, you will be able to buy gift cards that can be used at Disney as well, not just at the Disney Store. So basically, you can use them like Disney Dollars, but they can be tracked since it is a gift card. I wasn't sure if this had been posted, so I wanted to let everyone know. I like to give my DD the Disney Dollars, but for gift giving the gift cards would be a great idea!

I just found out about these yesterday. I called Disney Merchandising to order a few things that we didn't get on our last trip and one of the options to choose was to purchase Disney Gift & Dining Cards. I asked the CM after I placed my order and she told me that they were selling them for any amount and they would be shipped to you, signature required for $6.95. It's good to know you can get them at the Disney Store also.

Someone on another board said you could buy the prepaid cards right at your resort. I think I'm going to get my DD one for her souvenier money when we get there instead of giving her cash.
