New Incentives

Hi I have been lurking this board for weeks and have learned a lot. We are planning to buy Dvc in December. Wanting to know if any one has heard of any new incentives for AKL. With BLT being available do you think they would have better incentives there or would they offer the same for AKL and BLT? My guide says she knows for sure that the $8 point will still be there for Akl but not sure about anything else. We are still trying to decide if we want to go through resale or DVC.

We are also wondering this same thing. We love the thought of BLT but AKV is a much better deal finacially speaking, at least for us. We've looked at resale and compared that with going through disney. We did the worst case scenario for us and found that disney would be the better deal for us. Worst case scenario, we'd have to take the 10yr financing through disney or we'd have to take the 7yr financing through resale to term. When figured monthly, the resale was more per month w/ no incentives and never a guarantee of points to use right away and higher interest rates. Disney, you get $ off pp and developer points to use now (sometimes) and sometimes gift cards. We have no intention of taking a 10yr loan to term but worst case is how we came to our decision to buy through Disney. We are also hoping BLT will give even more wonderful incentives to AKV, because again financially, AKV is a far better deal

With a member referral and a limited offer for AK only. No word on this ending anytime soon.

The promo with the $500 GC ended on 9/20. There's been no word yet about any new incentive. Others on the DIS (myself included) have been told by their guide that the $8 per point incentive at AKV will still be around, but beyond that - who knows. A new incentive could be just around the corner, or it might be a while before they do anything. My guess is they want to continue doing something at AKV, but will probably wait until the initial hub-bub about BLT dies down within the DVC community, since it doesn't go on sale to the general public until October. Then once they see what kind of an overall reception that one gets, they'll make their move on incentives or not. But that's just my guess. At this point that's all we have - guesses.
