Please tell me how you start one, what you put in it and how doyoupreserve it. The closest thing I ahve done is done a web site aobut my trip.

Hi eeyorerulz - that's a big question.

the basic idea is to preserve your memories (ie photographs and stories) in a safe scrapbook - one that is 'acid-free', so that the photos won't be damaged over time.

there is a link here How to get started with quite a lot of info, the graceful bee website which is mentioned has a very good article.

You can also go to www.creativememories.com. Click on the consultant locator and you can hopefully find a consultant who lives close to you. She'd be able to get together with you one on one and help you get started. CM is great for getting the basic information to get you started.

I think it's safe to say each person has their own "way" of doing it too. One of my friends slaps her photos on pages with a colored paper triangle in each corner. My SIL uses all kinds of embellishments, from buttons to chalks to, well, practically anything. I am more middle of the road- not too creative but I like to use papers and stickers to embellish and I want my albums to tell a story so I journal a lot.
My point is this: Get all the help you need to start but make it YOURS. Does that make sense? I've seen people try to make it too elaborate and they get frustrated and quit because they don't enjoy it. It doesn't have to be elaborate, only if that's what you want. I find it can be soothing and I like to re-live the memories as I do the pages.:D

I agree with bananiem, everyone has their own unique way of scrapbooking ! I think my first website that I went to was www.learn2scrapbook.com After that I bought some books and searched the internet for a ton of other sites !! about.com has a lot of neat stuff too !!

Good Luck !!!
