thank goodness for this board, or else i would not have been able to sit here all day, you guys are very amusing. well just in case anyone cares, i decided if all i could get was a value resort, i wouldn't book because we already have free dining booked at a value so we save 80 bucks a day with that versus 80 some bucks on the hotel with this deal. so here's hoping for a moderate or deluxe, searching for sept26-oct 3rd, we really want akl!! just thought i would break my boredom by typing some random thoughts.......

Can anyone tell me if the $1 price replaces the regular price listed for the hotel on the 1st page or do you have to go through motions of booking?

Ok, ya'll have sucked me into this. Is there any difference to refreshing the page or just changing the "show hotels by" parameters? Changing the parameters seems to be much faster.

My dh is on the couch hitting refresh and watching tv while I read the dis and watch for false alarms. He has been at it since midnight.

My DH is shooting zombies with my DS7 on the Wii. DS7 is totally owning him and DH is a police officer. My DH has killed two civilians already.

Oh wait, I guess I shouldn't let my DS7 play this game but technically the zombies are already dead and their blood is green when you shoot them.

Is sitting in front of the computer for 10-20 hours a day really worth it for a "deal" that may or may not even happen again? I've read several posts that indicate posters neglecting thier children. Sure, they may be getting food, shelter, etc but not the attention they need and deserve. Oh, I know the way this is justified would be the quality family time they will get IF you actually snag one of these "deals".

I just think life is way too short to be sitting in front of the computer waiting on some shady deal that probably won't happen. We have a family member that seemed fine and healthy until about 2 weeks ago when he was diagnosed with cancer and is literally looking at hours left to live now. I would hate to be in that situation and know that I wasted what time I did have with my family staring at the computer and ignoring my family.


Go ahead and flame away...at least I'm giving you something to talk about instead of how often you pee. Good luck to you all!

I think your comments have a scrap of validity. Do I feel bad about spending all day on the computer while my daughter watches Wall-E for the 1,000th time and Barney in between (and loves it) ? Yes. Do I wish I hadn't spent that whole day doing this (especially since nothing has happened)? Yes.

Am I capable of multi-tasking? Yes. Did my husband come home and take over the computer for me? Yes (and I got a backrub too). Is my family supportive of the time I spent? Yes.

Many people work 2 and 3 jobs, spending time away from their families. I don't think that spending a lot of time online trying to get a great deal for Disney for my daughter's birthday a negative.

Finally, although there are definately better ways to spend my time, and I respect your point about your family member, all of us are in the same room, watching a movie while I refresh the screen. I think that making a blanket statement about this situation isn't really valid.

No, one room only. You can up the number of adults, but it maxes out at 2 children.

From what I hear, my DH is a pretty good shot on the range. Not as good as DS7, but he'll get by.
