Of course, I've gone through that--my brother was killed in a car accident. But, I didn't go around giving suggestions to strangers as a result.

I am very sorry for your loss. All I am trying to say is that different people react differently. We are all individuals and deal with things differently and uniquely. Example being that you are taking this personally and I am practically positive that the poster was not directing this to you.

You are probably right......but people do and say things when their life is turned upside down. Their perception is really different when someone they love is diagnosed with a life threatening illness. If you haven't experienced it in your life as yet, you will someday. I don't think the statement was directed solely to you. It seemed to me more of a philosophical statement. I didn't take it as a criticism....but more as suggestion.

Perhaps we could direct her to the Caring and Compassion Thread. This would be a better place for her to express her feelings.
I have been in her position but that wouldn't give me the right to belittle others who were minding their own business.
