ok I know I am probably getting annoying..but I am just trying to be able to create the best vacation possible..I am new to all this and you always want it to be as perfect as you can make it..

I saw a special for this Hilton..I guess it is a new hotel? I looked it up on tripadvisor and didn't see any reviews? They have specials with a 50 dollar resort credit per night....I am sorry if I am an idiot..lol but what does that mean? The rate was 129 which includes breakfast for two and a 50 resort credit. It has 2 queens and will fit 5..it sounds great and that seems like a decent price? What do you all think

Is this the Hilton you mean?

If so, it is in a great location over by the Convention Center. Brand new is always great! You might want to look at Vista Cay if you are thinking of staying over there. See www.vistacayrent.com for some owner condos and townhomes. They are also very nice! Close to Sea World and Universal and about 6 to 8 miles from Disney property. Same would be the case with the Hilton.

Depends on space you want for you and your family. If you are okay with hotel room and like the full service it provides then the Hilton would be fine, I'm sure.

It's always good to research all possibilities!!!! I drive myself crazy when I'm looking for a place to stay, as I'm very fussy...I drive my husband crazier....but I think it's fun!

We would be going Dec 3 thru Dec 10th - and the rates Hilton was quoting for those dates was almost 200.00 per night... Yikes!

I also checked out the other link, I'm having a HECK of a time finding an offsite hotel.

We've always stayed at Pop Century with free dining plan in the past - and can again this time, for approximately 947.18

I am at a loss of what sites to look at off site? HELP?!?!?!?!

Yes sjanus that is the one. It doesn't open until September 2009 ..so that would be why I couldn't find the reviews. LOL i am very fussy too and drive my poor husband crazy trying to research all this stuff. He just wants to know how much?

I just want to do Disney right...but without breaking the bank. Most of our money is going to tickets with a family of 5 ..woo that is pricey...So I can't spend the big money on the hotels...I still want a nice one though..

So far ..Hilton and Buena Vista Palace(which had some bad reviews on tripadvisor) are my best deals. I think I may book the Buena Vista just to grab the rate. ..and keep looking.

Sami..yea it doesn't give the deal for your dates? I don't really know why...I have also been checking in to Windsor hills condos..

The Pop Century with the free dining sounds reasonable, especially if you don't need a car, and all food included.

The beginning of December should be low season for the condos, townhomes, short term rental folks. Try doing a general inquiry for condos at www.windsorhillsrent.com and www.vistacayrent.com and see what prices you get. Of course, you probably want to have a car, and need to add that, especially if you are not getting one if you stay in the park.

There was a link on here for hotels for $35/night just last week I think, it was Rosen hotels, but can't remember what it was. If I find it, I'll post it.

Sandy

Here's the link for the Rosen hotels someone posted previously. Don't know what the reviews are but you can check on Trip Advisor.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2262103

it was me who posted the $35 for some of the Rosen Hotels. I don't have the link anymore in my emails since my desktop is not in working order right now. It was called something to the effect ...back to old school rates ??? However, the hotels they had listed cannot be compared to a Hilton by any means.. big difference in the class of hotel.. The Rosen hotels listed where Comfort Inns and Roadway Inn's....and they are nothing compared to a Hilton.... but if someone wants a cheap stay & not concerned about frills, that is the way to go.. if they want the frills, then they need the Hilton.. not the $35 Rosen's

Yeah, but great for an extra night before or after, I guess, if you don't care about the frills!

I sent a general inquiry to both Vista and Windsor condos.... even when we stay at Pop, we rent a car, because I hate using Disney Transportation - it takes too long..........

So we'd still rent a car no matter where we stay. So the only benefit of staying on Disney Property is no parking fees, which I dont even know how much it costs to park, as we've never paid it before.

The free dining isn't really free, as we'd have to buy a one day park ticket for all of us....when we already have our no expiration tickets of 3 days we didn't use the last time we went... and we wouldn't use the 4th day this time, so we'd pay an additional 293.96 to eat for free for those days...

I'm so confused on what to do... ha ha ha, but who isn't when they go to Disney, right?

If you got any suggestions for me, I'd love to hear them!

Oh I am not knocking the Rosen hotels.. I am staying at the Comfort Inn many times in the next few months on their other special... pay 9.99 for the first night, get the next night for $35 :thumbsup2 They are the trips that I plan on spending very little time in the rooms... I will be there next weekend.. then again the end of Sept for 2- 2 night stays.. then again in Oct for 2-2 night stays, then Thanksgiving.. and Dec for 2-2 night stays :thumbsup2

In that case, you might do better with a 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom condo or at least pricing it out as you are doing. Let us know how it all turns out!!! You won't go wrong with either Windsor Hills or Vista Cay, they are both wonderful resorts. Or you may try some others if other people on here have recommendations.

I stayed at the Rosen Centre about two months ago for $43 and at the Rosen Shingle Creek early August for $51.

Travel Zoo has the link to the Hilton for the rate & breakfast with $50 credit OP was looking for! I happen to go into Travelzoo.com to check something and saw it.. here is the link....

http://hotels.travelzoo.com/orlando-hotels/642514 this takes you to the link

this is the new Hilton going up in the Universal area

Here is a link to the Hotel....

they are also showing some rates for $99 thru Travel Zoo without the free breakfast & $50 credit

yes! that was where it was.....I have so many sites I have been too..I couldn't remember...Yes they had a 119 deal for my dates and a celebration special for 129 a night for my dates..with breakfast for two and a 50 dollar resort credit<although I am still not sure exactly what that is>. I think it's actually attached to the convention center?? So could be crowded with conventions..but it looks nice...

That is also the website that has really great deals on Buena Vista place..something like 79 per night? Although I haven't seen the best reviews on tripadvisor for it..makes me wonder if it is a too good to be true rate?

Sami..I feel your pain!lolol I am in the same boat..I have gone to windsor hills and just put my information in on the side panel and then all the condos/townhomes they have available are sent to you with pricing..Most for my dates have been under 900 for the week..One came through for a total of 732!! And that is with taxes..The townhomes were a little more but have a splash pool. I am staying six nights New Years Eve week...which seems to be the most expensive week..so you might get a better rate since your going earlier.. I saw one for 75 a night! So definitely check out the windsor hills renting site

I would *not* stay at the Hilton on Destination Parkway for a WDW-centric vacation. If the map I looked at is correct, it is way too far north on I-Drive, north of the notorious Sand Lake/I-4 intersection.

There are many quality options that will be much closer, at a good price.

I think the map location is wrong, this hotel is right by the convention center on the southern side of I-Drive.I tried to check that address on Mapquest and maps.live.com and it doesn't come up but if this is the new white Hilton going up close to the Convention center I think that's a great location.Obviously if you're doing Disney it's not as good as staying at a Disney resort, but from this location you can get to the Disney parks is 10-15 minutes.I stay on I-Drive all the time and sure south of Sand Lake rd is nicer but there are still plenty of good hotels north of it.

The convention center south would be fine with me. But, there are so many wonderful options closer to WDW that there just doesn't seem to be any reason to stay north of Sand Lake unless you're going to be spending a good chunk of time at Universal too.

I believe on the website it said it was actually connected to the convention center if that helps where it is. Hopefully the convention center is close?

The reason for me to stay there is not only can it fit my family of five..but at a rate of 119 a night...that isn't to bad. The only place cheaper I have found for my week is at Buena Vista place...and the reviews aren't wonderful..so I figure a brand new hilton would be pretty nice.

Have you thought about a timeshare rental or condo rental? With a family of 5 you might be more comfy in one and sometimes you can get a better deal on a rental than a hotel room... just a thought
