I can't see what that stands for?

I also just noticed this forum here- and I see posts were made here BEFORE I stopped posting here for awhile and went off to other boards, started Atkins on 2/26 and have lost 31lbs and 31.5+ inches (didn't start measuring until after the first week which I lost 8lbs so I'm sure I lost more inches that week also) since then! THEN I notice this forum??? LOL Figures.....

So what's WISH stand for and is there room for another low-carber here? :)

Hello and welcome, Bibbidy! ;)

WISH stands for We're Inspired to Stay Healthy!!! And you fit the bill! WOW!!! That is a very impressive loss of pounds AND inches!!! Hope you decide to stick around and join our merry little group.

At the rate the WISHers are shrinking, there is always room for another low-carber! Grab a WISH clippie and jump in!

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

And CONGRATULATIONS on your Atkins success! You'll be an inspiration to all the people who have recently started induction!

Thank you for the oh so warm & friendly welcome! :)

Thank you for the compliment- oh and better make that 32lbs now. ;)

I've gone from size 14 (working it's way into tight size 14 to loose size 16) down to size 10. A pretty firm size 10 meaning only some brands in size 10 won't fit me- but SOME in size 8's fit also! That's pretty exciting to me! I honestly can't tell a difference when I look at myself EXCEPT for my belly is a lot flatter (which I thought would never happen since it was mostly flabby hangy belly from such huge pregnancies with too much fluids stretching it all out) and the fact that smaller clothes fit. :) Okay so I can tell my butt isn't as big. LOL But wow..... if only DMrick could see me now. I tried on the same jeans I wore on my Jan trip when I saw her and I couldn't BELIEVE how huge they were! All over huge- completely fell to the ground when I let go of them. :) I think I'll hang on to those just so I can put them on and remind myself how much I have really lost anytime I get "down" during times when I don't lose as fast as I think I want to. LOL

And I must say I am feeling EXTREMELY more healthy now. I know I'm eating better (veggies has to be more healthy than chocolate- right? LOL) not to mention eating atleast 3 meals a day has to be better than only eating supper/one meal a day. :) I have loads more energy (although I haven't gotten in the groove on regular exercise- I sure do a lot more and I'm more active about my daily 'mom, play with kids, and house' duties so I am getting some exercise- and I just feel GGRRRRRReat! :)

To all those that have just started induction- you can do it! It's hard at first but BELIEVE me when I tell you that it gets EASIER. That's the greatest thing I have noticed about this way of eating/way of life (I don't call it a diet. hehe) -that unlike most diets that get harder and harder to stick with- this gets easier and easier! Honest!!! This coming from a chronic longterm chocoholic who hadn't drank a drop of water in many years also. LOL

Now to figure out how to grab a WISH clippie. :) Thanks again for the welcome! I still have about 40lbs to lose and that's being generous on my goal weight. For my height (5'2) I should probably make my goal weight a bit lower BUT who knows.... depends on how I lose. I may look good at that goal weight and my body HAS changed after the last 2 babies I had... wider hips, etc. LOL

Ok, I love you already! That sounds like something I would write, ha ha! ;)

Here is how you get your new clippie- http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=326403

And if you don't mind, edit your subject line on this thread so that more people will check it and get to know you! :) If I were browsing the boards and saw that someone had answered, I would have just guessed that's all there was to this thread (a definition of WISH). I don't want ANYONE to miss reading this because you have made some GREAT strides!!!!! I would love to put on jeans that would fall to my ankles! ;)

Welcome again! :) :) :)

WOW!! Your on a roll! A low carb roll of course!! LOL

There's always room for more WISHers and your an inspiration to us all!!

WELCOME!!

Thanks for posting your success story. It really helps me to stay motivated when I read about others.

I started out as "a tight size14/loose 16" and I think (OK, I know, LOL) that my belly meets the definition of "flabby hangy". Haven't quite got my 5 lb. clippie yet, but thanks to some exercise time at Curves, I'm looking better, losing inches and I'm now a "loose 14".

Started Atkins earlier this week, am keeping up the exercise and feeling pretty good. Thanks again for posting - reading about everyone else's results make me think I can do it, too!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks again for the super warm welcome! It's hard for me to imagine ME being an inspiration for others- but if so, so be it. HAHAHA ;)

I changed the subject line as requested. :)

Ah yes, the flabby hangy belly.... it's a curse I tell ya. LOL Well, huge bellies during pregnancy along with 2 out of 3 deliveries being c-section does NOT help the situation. LOL At all.... but I am honestly SHOCKED at how well it's shrinking. Even the dr had told me that even losing weight won't make that get better since it was mostly stretched out skin hanging down. I thought I'd need a tummy tuck after losing weight but I am thinking now that that might not be necessary if it continues as it is now. :)

Have faith- it can happen to you too! :)

I do have a few wishes though- that the chest area STOPS losing inches because I really didn't have any to spare to begin with and certainly don't now! LOL And wish my calves would get with the program. I'm losing everywhere like mad EXCEPT my calves are the same after all this weightloss! They just won't budge and pretty soon my thighs will be the same size as my monster sized calves. wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

CarolMN- you CAN do it. I know it for a fact. :)

lol...I am just dying over the flabby hangy thing...My youngest twin age 6 will watch TV with me and sing the jello song as she shakes my belly....lol. I was a size 22 two years ago and can get into a size 6 right now, and I have that excess flabby belly syndrome, that I think only plastic surgery will help  I am so glad though that I am not alone....

Welcome to the W.I.S.H. board!!! I hope you enjoy it here and stay a while :) I love your success story, thanks for sharing it:) :) :)

I'm so glad you found us again! I can tell from your sense of humor that you are going to be a big asset to WISH!:teeth: I am also eating low carb. But my journey will be MUCH longer than the one YOU have. HECK -- right now 14/16 would be my short term goal! I was wearing 26/28 and 3x last spring and after dropping 30 pounds I am now in 22's and 1x/2x depending on the fit. I just went shopping last night and boy did it feel good. It was quite a fun but scary experience. Being naked in the dressing room with 3-way mirrors was not a pretty sight!

Welcome to the WISH!
:D

Wow! Congrats on your weight loss.

I'm re-starting Weight Watchers today. I'm siked to get started after gaining 9 lbs back over the last year.

Best wishes.

Welcome to WISH!!!!!!!!!!!! There are lots of low-carb people and lots fo support!!!! WE love new people!!!

Hi 3B! I'm so glad to see you here on WISH. You have already accomplished so much on Atkins. Isn't that just the greatest feeling, taking control and getting healthy like you are doing?

I'm on Atkins too. I haven't done nearly as well as you have but this is the way I plan to eat for the rest of my life, so I have plenty of time to lose more weight (I hope). You are a wonderful addition to my support group. You've already motivated me to work harder at my goal. I've lost 32.5 but I started Atkins three weeks earlier than you did, so I think I can learn a lot from you. You are a great example for me to follow.

I'm glad you are back with us here on WISH. Please don't leave us again. Visit us often, okay? Everyday or even a few times everyday would be perfect :)

Okay, get ready to be even more successful than you've been already--okay, that may not be possible. How about this, get ready to have more fun than ever before, being successful.

Onward and downward!

Katholyn
