I am going to Disneyworld in May and have booked the trip online (just giving a deposit) After finding this website I have a few ??'s. I have AAA should I get a discount for that? What does AP mean? A few people have talked about getting discounts after you pay, how does that work?
Thanks
Eileen

Yes, AAA does give you a discount, if you haven't already received a discount.

go look on mousesavers - sometimes there are general public discounts codes that can be used to lower your room rate - or you can move up to a more deluxe resort.

AP - also sometimes get discounts.

So does AAA.

I would call CRO and see if they can't apply your AAA discount to your room.

sometimes there is a problem using the internet then trying to change using CRO - but try anyway.

I would call 1-800-wdisney and see if you can get a AAA rate for your room for your existing reservation.

AP is an annual pass -- discounts that are offered to Annual Pass holders usually excede the discount for AAA.

Also, I've heard of discounts sometimes offered for Florida residents and discounts given somewhat randomly via mail or email.

Currently, there are a lot of people on this board waiting to see if any discounts will be available this summer for Annual Pass holders.

Good Luck on your trip!

It depends. I suggest doing some research on pricing and find out which one comes out the least expensive. This means comparing apples-to-apples. This is our first trip to WDW and after meeting with AAA and comparing against piecing the vacation separately, I find that I saved more doing the latter. Keep in mind that I used the expired codes from last year and the comparison is apples-to-apples.

You can either get a AAA package, or a AAA discount for your room if one is available for the time you are going, and for the resort you want to stay at. It saved me about $150 on my room only at BC for 3 nights.

AAA discount is for room only rates. If you got a packege youre out of luck.

Welcome to the DIS Eileen!

Do you happen to be a military family? Shades of Green (SOG here on the boards :) ) has great discounts.

You said that after booking I could *add* an discount when it comes up. Does this also work when booked trough an travel agent or only ir you did your booking by yourself.

but my husband is a Police Officer. In previous years they gave a discount, I haven't heard of any for this year. If anyone knows of one, please tell me!
Thanks

I'm in the process of booking a trip for this fall. Spent a fair amount of time figuring out best deals, etc. Interesting - I found different info from what someone quoted above.
I looked at AAA Room-only discount through Small World Vacations (online travel agent).
I asked AAA for a quote for an equivalent package.
Quotes for both were virtually the same - adding the room rate to the ticket cost was the same as the package which gave me basically the same thing.
In either case, the AAA savings were pretty significant.
I expect I will go with the package because I think I want the Dining option and must have a package to include that.
Yes, you supposedely can add a "code" discount after you book with a AAA discount. At least when you book room-only. That may not be true when you book thru AAA for a package (good question - need to find out the answer to that).

Last year I had gotten a AAA discount on my room and about 2 months before I actually left I heard about another discount and even though the trip was booked through my TA I called the hotel myself and they added the additional discount.
The AAA discount will only be applied if everything is booked separately. If your trip was a package deal then you won't get a discount.
