Hi all. My boyfriend proposed at Cinderella's castle on our 5 year anniversary so we thought, why not get married here too. :earboy2: We are in the process of planning our Intimate ceremony, but got a little discouraged yesterday. Our first choice was Sunset Pointe, but we plan on having approx 15 attending (including us). Apparently they are unwilling to budge from the 10 total allowed. From looking around this board I've noticed people saying they didn't have a problem with more people. I'm wondering if I need to be more persistent with this? We really had our heart set on this and none of the other places seem to compare - not that they aren't all gorgeous. Right now I'm comtimplating flat-out not inviting people, but when you have to say no to your brothers and/or Grandmother's that's pretty much close to impossible.

I have heard of others having more people...but those weddings were several years ago.

I guess Disney has decided to keep that location count low. There is a reason for this...my understanding is that the site is kind of on a hill and there isn't much room to set up many chairs before they are sitting on the slope which could be a hazard.

If you really have your heart set on that location (and nothing else will do), then you will most likely have to reduce your guest count. My guess is the ten people includes you and your groom. Reducing your guest count doesn't mean people can't still come to WDW and celebrate with you after the ceremony at another location. You can decide not to do the cake/champagne cutting until later at the restaurant where you will be having dinner...and then all your family can be there.

If you decide that the guests are more important than the location, you might want to consider one of the other locations...you're right, they are all beautiful and each has its own charm.

Good luck with your decision! :)

My planning kit from Disney says 13 for Sunset Pointe. We have now changed and are using the Wedding Pavilion--but just wanted to let you know.

Ahhh...13 would make sense in a way...

3 - bride, groom, officiant

10 - guests

It all depends on how Disney is counting folks.

The 10 count does include us so it would be 8 guests technically - 13 is a new number, but the officiant part makes sense with that. That all I plan to call back and plead my case, most of our guests are willing to stand. I doubt they'll make an exceptions but it's just so gorgeous there.

WC told us that we can only have 8 guests at SP, so 10 total. , officiant shouldn't count since he'll be standing....
but do consider plan on all 13 people show up there anyways, I don't believe they'll ask the extra guests to leave, probably just won't have chairs for them.
The area isn't totally closed off from what I heard, worst case scenerio is they view it from a short distance? bring a nice gift for the WC for bribe? :)
the default cake are said to be enough for 15~20 people too..so that's not a problem. bring extra champaign and glass just in case?
