Hi !I'm new to this board and have never been to Disney
I chose not to get the park-hopper option for my family, thinking we would be fine doing one park a day. As I've been perusing this board it seems most people do the park-hopper option. Could someone explain to me if I would be better off doing this? We have the free dining and are staying at CBR. If we go to MK for the day does that mean I couldn'rt eat at Epcot that night without the hopper option?
Thanks in advance!

:welcome: to the boards!

You are correct. A non park hopping ticket, you can go to one park a day. If you need to take a break at your resort then you can only re-enter that same park. Also, if you want to take advantage of EMH, you'd have to choose the EMH park for the day.

My family is older so we'll start the day at one park, eat lunch at another, swim at the resort, and then go to a differnt park at night.

correct if you want to be at MK for the day you can't go to Epcot for dinner without that option...Animal Kingdom can be done pretty quickly so you'd most likely want the option to HOP later in the day...I wouldn't go without the option myself...but whatever you decide you are going to have a magical vacation

this definately comes down to you & your family's preferences! i've heard people say it was a waste of money for their families b/c they enjoy spending an entire day in one park. and lord knows, there is enough to see and do to keep you busy for that long!

personally, i would never go without it! we frequently park hop and have been known to hit all four parks in one day (and not even using EMH!) ..... i may want to start the day on everest, but end it with wishes. i guess i just like having options!

We love the flexibility of being able to go anywhere. You never know what mother nature might throw at you and some of the evening shows either cancel/ or just aren't as thrilling if you have to sit in bad weather to experience them. However some of the evening shows will go on almost without exception. We also like the variety of mixing it up each day, so we are not experiencing one "theme" all day. No matter which you choose I am sure you will have a Great time:cool1:

Ah! One of the classic questions! We have always gone with parkhoppers but we are one of those families who love to ride the monorail and eat in Epcot regardless of whatever park we have been in earlier in the day. There are many threads on this topic in the Theme Parks and Attractions Board if you want to read further.

Welcome to the DIS!

:welcome: :welcome: You are going to enjoy planning your next trip on here!!!

It depends on the length of your stay also. The park hopper option costs about $42 more than the MYW tickets. If you have a 3 day MYW ticket, the park hopper option would be a $14/day bump in price. If you have a 7 day MYW ticket the park hopper option would cost $6/day. I wish you much magic on your trip and don't forget to make those ADRs!:cool1:
