WDW vacation. I have been lurking and getting lots of helpful info. DH,myself and ds-will be 4 when we travel are looking to go to Disney within the next yr. I am thinking maybe beg. of Dec '07. Already got the WDW dvd and we are getting excited. Couple of questions:

Is the park hopper option necessary-are you really able to do more than one park in a day?

Is the downtown Disney (?) area considered a separate park??

What parks would a 4 yr old really enjoy and which would not be worth visiting? ( I told dh maybe plan another trip when ds is older so he can enjoy the bigger rides )

Thanks in advance, looking forward to any and all advice!! Patty

Downtown Disney is not a -park-, i.e. you don't have to purchase a ticket to go there. However, there are certain entertainment venues that you would have to pay for to enjoy. For example, my wife and I personally enjoy the Disney Marketplace (shop shop shop), and being a kid a heart, I love DisneyQuest (entry fee required).

You should be able to find as much information as you need at Disney's site regarding the various shops, restaurants, and entertainment available.

The Park Hopper is nice if you want to visit one park, but eat at another. However, for my family it is really difficult to truly visit more than one park per day -- more like two days (heh heh).

Your four year old should love the Magic Kingdom, and perhaps Animal Kingdom. Epcot and MGM may(?) not hold much for the attention span. I'm basing these comments on personal experience with our two children.

Hope that helps somewhat. :-)

:welcome:

Park hoppers are not neccessary infact we mostly stay in one park per day but we do buy them so that we have the option to do the different parks or if we can't get a ressie the day we are in that park we can still do it.

DtD is not a park Pleasure Island and Disney Quest are downtown and do require admission. PI is dance clubs and comedy clubs mostly adults only. Marketplace has several disney stores and a great lego store. They also have a few restaurants my favorite place is Earl of Sandwich (they have great sandwiches).

My DD6 has been going since she was not quite two and loves all of the parks if your DS like animals he will love AK. If you let me know you sons height I can let you know what rides he can or can't do.

DS is 40 inches now (3 1/2 yrs), I didn't think Epcot would be a place he would enjoy at this age, but I thought in the dvd they showed Lightening McQeen in MGM-if that is so we will have to visit that park, since LM is ds' favorite guy!! We are planning a one week trip, should we buy tickets for each day? Thanks again, Patty
