I would like to plan a trip for the end of September to take my 2 boys for the first time...any tips, tricks, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
You picked one of the best times of years to vacation at DW. The crowd levels are very low at the end of September/beginning of October. We previously just went the last week of September 2011 into the first week of October and just loved it. We hit near to NO wait times on almost every ride.. The wait times were around 10minutes to 30minutes! Some people will tell you to be careful at that time of year due to rain but I can say we didn't get rain once during our stay! The highest it got was 90 but it still didn't feel like it would if it were 90 in July there. The lows were in the 70s, the nights were beautiful for weather, we went night swimming several times. The days can still be pretty hot though but bearable if you ask me! Incase of any rain I recommend to buy your family some ponchos here at home before you go and bring them along.. Just incase. They'll be $1-$3 here and there way more.. Not worth it, buy them before and bring them along. While your there The magic kingdom will be having mickeys not so scary Halloween party! It's a must DO! For all ages.. Dress up, enjoy a special Halloween parade, shows and fireworks.. You will also catch all types of Disney characters throughout the park in their Halloween costumes and you can trick or treat in the park! These parties only happen on select nights so you will want to to keep an eye out for dates and buy your tickets in advance.. This is an extra cost but you get to stay in the park till midnight! For tips, if you haven't already got it, keep your eye out for a free dining promo because DW almost always offers one during your stay and it's a huge save! make some table service meals for your family during your stay, it's a nice way to meet and greet with characters without having to stand in lines but make sure any sit down meals you plan.. Book 180 days before your arrival date because disney'd restaurants do book up completely. For magic kingdom parades you will notice main street fills up almost an hour before.. Head down towards splah mountain, the parades go right by there still and you don't have to waste a hour sitting on main street to hold a good spot. enjoy!!
