We are going to disney world for 11 days. 2 days we will be going to universal. I know they offer the free transport to universal from a disney resort with a certain ticket. What i need opinions on is do you think that transportation is worth it? We will have 2 kids ages 5 and 9. Just thinking about the most cost effective way to get to universal without breaking the bank. Thanks for any help and i love reading all the tips and advise given here.

I have never seen that ticket so I don't know what the price difference is. How much are they and where do you get them?

That looks like a good deal. But you have to pay per person. So they are charging around $11 for each person. A taxi is going to cost around $45-$55 one way. If you call the same taxi back to return, they will usually give you a deal for like half that price.

The bus will have a certain time period and with a taxi you could be on your own time frame. You could get a rental car from the Car Care Center or the Dolphin/Swan and maybe pick up a car for 24 hrs for around $35 a day.

It is a 2 day 2 park ticket with a free transfer from any disney resort to universal. They use mears transportation. Has anyone used mears? They will pick up at any time we want but i am not sure how long they take getting to the parks and back. What a the experiences with mears? Thanks

It looks like a good deal. We have never used Mears because we always either rent a car or drive on Vacation, but it looks like a good deal. I know Mears is a major transportation provider. You might post the same question on the Universal and Orlando boards to get opinions from those people.
