Hi all! I've been reading over some of the posts and am so impressed at the wealth of information here! I hope ya'll don't mind if I jump right in and ask for help.
Thanks to this site I have decided to stay at Wilderness Lodge December 17-26 with dh and our 4 kids. There are no junior suites available so we have booked 2 rooms courtyard view. So I called AAA and spoke with a travel agent and just ended up being frustrated. I kept telling her what I wanted and she kept coming back with quotes for the FW cabins. I'm sure they are lovely but it isn't what I want to book right now. She kept telling me how expensive WL is and I told her I knew that. I asked her if she could give me a quote with the dining plan and she said that is big bucks and gave me no quote for WL with dining. She also did not want to give me a room only rate.
So, I gave up and decided to call Disney directly. What a difference! The lady that I dealt with was very professional and helpful and didn't try to tell me what my budget should be. I went ahead and reserved the rooms with Disney. The problem is, I can't book a package with dining with the AAA discount unless I go through AAA. And since I can't seem to get what I want from AAA I'm stuck.
Now after writing a book, sorry, I am wondering whether I should just forget the dining plan and deal or if I should try to get a different agent at AAA. I could give up the AAA discount but it is saving me $800. Have any of you ever experienced this before? I've never booked through AAA before and don't know if this is typical.
