Hi! I'm fairly new here (though I have been reading for a few days) and my family and I have decided to go to DL March 1-5th (park hopping for the 2-4th). We (DH and I) are going with out 3 young kids (almost 2, 3 and 5), my MIL and my 15 year old BIL, and I will be about 6 mos pregnant. We went last year in May, so I knwo all the stuff for the kdis to do, and am looking forward to having an awesome time, but had a few questions...

We'll probably be staying at the Ramada Inn Maingate, so does anyone have any + or - feedback about it? (yes, I've already read tripadvisor ;) )

I know my body, and I know what rides to avoid and everything, but if I want to go on a ride that has a sign advising against it, will they not let me ride if they notice I'm preggers? (I'm not huge on the big roller coasters right now, anyways, but I *know* I can physically handle Buzz Lightyear, or POTC, which both have advisories for expecting women... would they stop me?)

Anyhow, TIA for any advice!

ETA: Another quick question... We're basically going for my oldest DD's and my MIL's B-day.. DD's is Feb 15th, MIL is feb 25... since we're going for the b-days, would they still give my DD the birthday button even though it's not actually her birth DAY? TIA!

Kellie (really looking forward to trying one of those Dole whip things, and a bacon wrapped asparagus...MMMMM!)

I am not sure about your first question, but about the birthday thing I think that they will allow you too. And also for the pregnat, I think that they won't say anything anyway you know what you can handle... but HAVE FUN!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm not sure if they *would* say anything (to me, at elast), since I'm a little... er, Fluffy... to begin with ;) not sure they'd want to ask a chubby girl if she's preggo or just chubby.. LOL

We are SO looking forward to it, though (okay, we aren't *officially* going yet, still have to get my FIL's credit card to purchase everything, since our taxes aren't here yet, but we'll be all reserved by the end of the week!)

Kellie (oooh, and those BBQ skewers sound soooo good! DH is gonna go broke taking a preggo to DL! LOL )

We'll be there the same time as you!

As for hotels, do you mean the Ramada Saga Inn, which is directly across the street? Decent place---no fridge or micro.

For that weekend, we booked the Desert Inn and Suites Family suite (sleeps 10) for $149 for weekends and $119 for Sunday night. Has a separate living room area (with pull out), fridge and micro. Just another option for you!

BTDT to DL and WDW pregnant. They won't say anything to you.

thanks! Actually, I just checked, and the Ramada is booked up now, so hopefully I can get my FIL's card tonight and will book at the HoJo (how can I not, after all the great things said about it here! lol)

In trying to save on $$, would it be wise to opt out of the ART, and just walk?
Thanks!

Kellie

Neither Buzz (which is a slow dark ride--nothing that might be a problem for a pregnant woman) nor POTC have warnings about pregnant women riding them. At least not that I've seen. Buzz for sure doesn't and I don't think POTC does.

Then maybe they just do at WDW? I just saw on a height restrictions site that they list all restrictions, and POTC says :
Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for Buccaneer Gold
Must be at least 35" tall (89 cm) to ride. For safety and comfort, you should be in good health and free from heart, back, or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure. Expectant mothers should not ride.

Buzz says :
Buzz Lightyear?s AstroBlasters
Must be at least 51" tall (130 cm) to ride; For safety and comfort, you should be in good health and free from heart, back, or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure. Expectant mothers should not ride.

Thanks!

We're all booked! We're staying at the Howard Johnson, and are gonna be park hopping for 3 days! Last year we only PH'd for 2, and it was NOT enough time for all of us... Can't wait!!!

We might see you there. :) We'll be there Feb. 26-Mar 2

I'm almost certain that neither of those rides have warnings as far as pregnancy. And I've definitely taken my little ones on it with no problems. A few years back I was there while pregnant and rode POTC and no one said a word to me. The only rides I think I'd avoid (personally) would be the obvious ones... Thunder Mountain RR, Star Tours, Space Mtn, Indiana Jones, etc.. everything else should be totally fine I'd think.

We will definatly see you there. We(me, DD9,BestF, her DS6,BIL, his DD11) are staying at hojos from feb 28 to mar 7. This is their first time anywhere and my first time at hojos. Im SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!
