Congrats to all of you who got the bags, but yet again, why are they gone by 5 am????

Just checked Ebay--- there are 2 purses on the first page that are listed as "presale" for about $750 each. One actually says it was just ordered from DS today, the other says won't ship til about 5/29 (sounds like a DS order to me). Guess that's why they sold out so fast. Money to be made....

Could you ladies please post after you get the bag and use it for a while if the bags still have staining/flaking issues.

I really, really, really, want one, but I just can't pull the trigger until I know that it will hold up. I would be devastated if I purchased it and it started to flake, I'm not the easiest on my bags either, so I know if the bag was prone to flaking, it would happen to me.

Ugh these posts pissed me off..I am supposed to get emails when there are updates to this thread and it doesn't work. I was up since 5am this morning anyway...so angry now.

Either they have like 5 of these purses at a time or peopleare being tipped off as to when they are going on sale. Its starting to get rediculous.

Ugg! Congrats to all those who were able to purchase one. But, really, Disney? Two a.m. listing time and sold out in a couple of hours? I love the HM but am really close to being over this, especially with the quality issues and customer service.

I've been waking up every couple of hours now out of excitement!

Also I was so nervous about not getting it I was literally scared to close my receipt page-even after I got the confirmation email! I even screen capped it and saved it with the confl. number and the green ebates button to show that I should get ebates back!

Apparently they were sold out by 4:30? But I totally agree with you. I feel like the people who got the bags in the parks on Monday were definitely tipped off. As far as tonight, that's the one thing that stinks about posting on Disboards, the hope is as many as you ladies saw the post that it's up with the link, but also thousands of people/non dis-ers could see it.

Hang in there ladies! I keep hearing more and more rumors about the Fall! This time we'll know exactly how to go about snagging one!

I also think someone down in Orlando is getting tipped off-- all those Ebay sellers just happen to show up at the right store on just the right day??? Riiiiight.

I have been following this thread & any info I can read about this purse since last summer. This is what the detective in me has been working with:

-Disney never said limited or one time only release.

-bags seemed to be found in park, then show up later on DS website.

- All the online buyers seemed to have luck in the early morning hours.

-In Feb, someone noticed the picture change on the website, with a purple lining showing instead of the red. This occurred after reports of the red lining bleeding , leading to speculation quantities were limited as a quality control issue got resolved.

- Months ago someone said the DS website "loads" new inventory @ 2AM EST.

- A few weeks ago, someone else said new merchandise typically shows up on Mondays.

-Maybe 3-4 weeks ago, someone received a purple lined bag in exchange for a defective/ bleeding bag.

-Disney blog about the new Cherry Tree Lane store @ Downtown Disney 2-3 weeks ago hinted @ Haunted Mansion bags in the fall.

-Reports last week that purple lined bags were in stores at WDW. Confirmed by merchandising & new Ebay listings.


I put 2 & 2 together: bags in park last week, new inventory on Mondays , inventory loaded @ 2 AM est & I was almost certain today would be the day. I even joked with my DH last week that I would sleep in the guest room & set the alarm for 2 am all this week if I had to. Luckily, I'm an old lady & is get up around 2 anyway! I was considering not ordering & waiting to see if new styles come at out in the fall, but that thought left my head as soon as I saw "add to bag"!!


I hope more inventory is on the way soon so you all can get your bags too!

Just me, but I think the bright red interior is kinda loud (ox blood or wine or indigo would probably look better, but hey that's just my .02) Minor details - I just want to carry my stuff in it

Just for kicks, I just tried to pull up on my phone via the mobile version of the DS, and it gave me an "Add to Cart" option rather than saying "Sold Out" like the regular online version. Thought I had stumbled into a secret abyss, but alas, when I clicked on it, a message came up that said "Aw, phooey. The product you have selected is sold out. So sorry!" It's like they are taunting us! Have been trying to get this for my wife since the first day. Ugh. Hopefully, those of us getting continually shot down will eventually be appeased with a wider variety of HM designs...or at least a deeper pool of this version with new-and-improved durability.

I typed a response last night and this morning when I checked my phone I found out I didn't press submit reply, I guess trying to multi task while watching game of thrones didn't really work for me .

I was wake when the link was posted thanks to having so many shows on the dvr on Sundays. I was able to put in my cart and then decided against it. I am glad to see many of the people that wanted one got one. The reason I decided against is
1. Quality issues. It seems the liner was fix, but what about the flaking? And after seeing what they did to lmkoons bag and how D&B dealt with it made me think twice.
2. I don't use my Disney D&B outside the parks and we don't really have a trip planned any time soon. Even-though I might use this park outside the parks because most people won't even know it is Disney.
3. I don't see myself using this bag during spring and summer. If it was fall I would have bought it immediately.
4. I am hoping that this fall they bring more styles with the HM design.

I really hope all the issues were fix for this batch. Please everyone keep us updated how your bags hold up.

I love this post, it's like the logical version of me wrote it...lol. The flaking and bad DB customer service is a real turn off. Plus I got the DVC Dooney and the quality if that bag is terrible. The original bags were nice but the newer ones have not impressed me.

The Haunted Mansion bag is now listed with the other Dooney and Bourkes and with The Haunted Mansion merchandise. It still says sold out, but at least it's listed with the other bags.

Earlier, someone mentioned that when it became available this morning, it was through the direct link but wasn't listed on the D&B page. Was this everyone's experience? Just wondering if there's a glimmer of hope, since they haven't pulled it from the page.

Yup- I believe so! I had two friends on facebook who were trying to get it from their mobile devices and the direct link didn't show up on the mobile site and when it took them to "Full site" it listed all the dooneys but not this one. They eventually found it by searching for the product number on mobile.

Understandable- that's why I never got one in the fall because I had to be up early for classes that all required a good night's sleep. I think the way Disney has handled this is completely unfair-it's definitely like a radio contest! Between this and Frozen somebody in Marketing probably isn't going to have a job for much longer...

I ordered mine at about 2:45- 2:50 & haven't gotten an email yet either. I copied the confirmation number tho, so I'm hoping it's ok. I know sometimes emails don't go out til later in the business day.

At around 3:15 EST this morning when Disney refreshed the site the bag was on both the D&B page and the page for Haunted Mansion Items. I did not use any link it was just there. I was shocked to be able to order it without any site crash.
