Since 2010, you’ve been able to step into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort and become a part of the iconic moments from the books and films.

I’m happy to share that even more magic is coming.

For the first time at Universal Orlando Resort, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will transform for the most wonderful time of year – Christmas.

Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Festive garlands décor, each with it’s own unique detail, will complement the shops and architecture. These fantastic textures will surround you as you wander the streets of both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.

You’ll also be able to enjoy new holiday food, drink and entertainment throughout both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. I can already hear the Frog Choir rehearsing their new numbers!

The Christmas celebration will crescendo nightly as a festive spell will be cast onto Hogwarts castle, cascading it in décor, candlelight and festive moments inspired by the films. Using the latest in mapped projection technology, Hogwarts Castle will transform itself into a yuletide display, gifting fans with an amazing, new view.

The holidays have always been a special time for Hogwarts students. And we’re going to capture that same spirit, allowing you to experience The Wizarding World of Harry Potter like never before.

New Holiday Parade
And that’s not all.

This year, we’re introducing the new Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s, the global leader in balloon entertainment. You’ll enjoy newly designed floats, festive balloons and your favorite Universal characters in Universal Studios Florida.

Santa Claus is going to have his hands full as the Minions bring merry and mayhem to the parade, along with Dreamworks characters from Madagascar and Shrek.

We’re also partnering with Macy’s, the global leader in balloon entertainment, to bring this parade to life.

All of these holiday experiences will run daily starting Nov. 18, 2017 through Jan. 6, 2018.

This is just a taste of what’s to come. Stay tuned to the blog for more details and sneak peeks, as we get closer to the holiday season.

So excited - this starts the day we arrive!! The only downside is that the HP areas may not be so deserted in the evenings with this going on, but if it's as cool as it sounds, it will be a worthy tradeoff.

omg I can't wait. Finally they will have something earlier in the year too. I go at Thanksgiving plus the following week so I would only have that first Saturday night in December and Saturdays are really busy anyway. Disney and SeaWorld always started their Christmas just after Thanksgiving. I love their doing the HP theme although I love the Grinch.

Grinchmas and the Mannheim Steamroller concerts are still going to happen also. (Concerts only probably the first few weekends in December, though)

Hey - when do the decorations for the hotels generally go up? We will be at CBR Wed, Nov 29 - Sat, Dec 2....I am hoping at least some of the decorations will be up :)
I am OVER THE MOON to learn today that there might be Harry Potter related Christmas things going on <3

This is so exciting! I do believe I will have to go on my last day there!

Finally! I can't believe they haven't done something for the holidays before this in the WWOHP. I mean it's a big deal in the books and movies. Now they need to offer something at Halloween too in WWOHP. If only I could manage to be there:( Maybe one year.

Thanks for posting this........just sent the news to friends who stay for 3 weeks every Christmas......they'll be thrilled with this news!

Nice to hear........I think it will be spectacular..........and about time!

I have been contemplating a December trip, this may be just what I need to take the plunge!!

I hope so. I love Grinchmas. We were there the first year when they actually had real snow. Two of my kiddos now 21 and 26 and their cousin got in trouble for having a snowball fight.

I think this pushed me to go in December too! We should have gone this past march (normal schedule) but couldn't.....

We'll be there the 24th-26th. Nice little bonus to our trip!

I have a feeling this will make the parks much more crowded, so I'm happy we got the Express Passes

Thanksgiving week is already slammed as it is, this will probably help a bit (if Grinchmas and the parade is running then)

Sorry, I meant December! We're there Christmas Eve, day, and the morning of the 26th. We were anticipating big crowds already, and this should make it crazier.

Awww man!!! The first video said it started in November and I just assumed it was like Disney! Instant transition overnight from Oct > Nov! I'm so bummed! I'm gonna be down for the Wine and Dine Half, so I'm totally gonna miss out on HP Christmas! Grrrr!
