New guidelines for flying - I am so lost

I am flying through Delta and I see I have to pay 15.00 per bag - I am allowed one carryon and one "personal item" per person. I have just thought about what this means for the two umbrella strollers that I had planned to check. Will they be extra?

I don't think so...I flew a few months ago, me, DH, and DS who had his own seat. So technically we were allowed 3 carry ons and 3 personal items. and I think that strollers are kind of in their own catagory when you look at the website, but even if they did count as carry-ons you would be fine unless you will each have a carryon and personal item.

on a side note I commented to DH that no one counted how many carryons we had. I felt like we could have had a few bags each andthey wouldn't have noticed!

That is an excellent point and thanks for that - I was thinking the same thing - if each person was allowed one carryon - with there being six of us - we could probably lose at least one suitcase or maybe two

If you check them, they will charge you for them as a bag - or two depending how you pack them. However, you can gate check them and then you will be fine and can avoid the charge. These are in additon to the carryon and the personal item. They will take them from you before you board and return them to you when you get off the plane. So you will actually have to carry them through the airport- but you could aswaus sit your kids in them or carry your bags on them.
