Speaking of the old groom top hats -

It was also too small for my DH, so we prepared ahead of time last year. And since our wedding was right before halloween, it was very easy to do!

We went to one of the big halloween superstores before we left for Disney, and we found DH a top hat there. It fit him perfectly.

When we got to Disney, we bought his groom hat the first day. First, I used the hat to measure and mark where the ears should be placed on the other top hat we had bought. Then we pried the ears off the Disney hat and removed the staples. I then used the hot glue gun to attach the ears to the new hat, and voila - DH had a Mickey groom hat that fit.

It was still hot though. He didn't wear it much.

I, however, hardly took my bride ears off!

Oh I saw them too...they also have new bridal ears and have the old ones too.

lol I think the new groom's hat is really cute!!! But I have to agree that it would look pretty silly actually being worn...oh well Hmm, and the bride's are cute, too, but I like the headband better, I think it stays on your head better!
I wish they'd come out with some decent groom's ears!! But I like the idea of just getting regular ears and having "Mr and Mrs X" embroidered on, great idea!

We were just at WDW last week and they had both grooms hats at WDW and DTD, in addition to both brides hats.

I'm making the hats out of baseball caps and ears since we're going in May.

I was going to get ours while we are there for our wedding/HM but I was afraid there wuld be none of the old style left, so I ordered them from laughingplace.com when they were having a 15% off sale, making them about ebay prices. They should be here today! That way, we can wear them when we check in the hotel too! I think DF will wear it if he thinks there is even a chance he might get positive attention from it
