Starting this week, according to the email I just received from Special Diets. Gardenburger Malibu Burger, not available through retail.

INGREDIENTS: ORGANIC COOKED BROWN RICE (ORGANIC BROWN RICE, WATER), WATER, ORGANIC CORN, ORGANIC CARROTS, ORGANIC ONIONS, ORGANIC GREEN PEPPERS, ORGANIC ROLLED OATS, ORGANIC RED BELL PEPPERS, ORGANIC SOY PROTEIN ISOLATE, ORGANIC CANOLA OIL, ORGANIC HIGH OLEIC SUNFLOWER OIL, CONTAINS TWO PERCENT OR LESS OF BROCCOLI, SEA SALT, CARRAGEENAN, ORGANIC SOY SAUCE (WATER, ORGANIC SOYBEANS, SALT, ORGANIC WHEAT, ORGANIC ALCOHOL), ORGANIC ONION POWDER, KONJAC FLOUR, ORGANIC GARLIC POWDER, ORGANIC SPICES.
CONTAINS SOY AND WHEAT INGREDIENTS.

I know there was talk about the veggie burger being changed... so sorry if this has already been posted. Since she said she was just informed that the burgers will start being carried this week I thought it might be new information.

at Cosmic Ray's and if I'd known I would not have ordered it. It was NASTY! Okay not too bad, but I generally like Boca Burgers and was NOT expecting something full of corn chunks and water chestnuts.

I wish I'd read that last week!

It was not good. And I don't know what bun they use but it fell apart.

Yuck.

 good to know. I wish they did sell them retail so my DD could at least try one before hand.

Let me tear this apart. I cannot eat it because of the alcohol, soy and wheat. Also it has unidentified spices which worries me. I bolded those items that are major food allergies I have heard of on this board. Way to go Disney.

They call it a yam but it is out of the Araceae family that includes lilies. If you have allergies to lillies or any plant in the Araceae family then be warned that you could react to this Voodoo lily.

Ingredients are: broccoli, canola, carrots, corn, garlic, konjac (yam relative), oats, onions, peppers (bell), rice, salt, soy, sunflower, water, wheat

Ingredients of unknown base ingredients: alcohol, sea salt, spices

I hate the fact that so many product are allowed to simply list "spices" or "spice extract." My Mom also has a spice/seasoning allergy, and I'm sure such allergies are not uncommon. I wish the food industry was required to disclose what "spices" are used. :(

Join the crowd that is yelling for better labeling. Additives, natural ingredients, dextrose and starch to name a few. I never know if I should eat something or not. I knew a lady who was severely allergic to lilies and could get sick from eating them kanjac roots.

I hope Obama will listen to us but doubt it.

By any chance did they also provide the protein, fat, and carb content along with the ingredient list? Since I'm a gastric bypass patient, I used the Boca burger as an alternative to the grilled chicken. Looking at the list of ingredients, it appears the carb count could be too high for my current allowance.

Thanks for the information. That crosses a CS option off my list. The amount of carbs and protein are exactly reversed from what a GBS patient should have. A 3-oz (87g) protein serving should give you around 20g of protein and no more than 5g of carbs. The amount of fat is not good, either.

and I was not thrilled. I love the big Boca burgers they used to have. This one was just...corn and yuck.

Haha this is funny! I have had pretty good variety of veggie burgers, and to me, this was the BEST I have ever had! :lovestruc :confused3 :lmao: I actually am going to get some at the grocery store. To each is own.... :goodvibes

Funny how some love it, others don't.

It gave me - well, let's say, tummy issues later on.

At least I knew not to order one at Restaurantasaurus. Got the kids' burger instead (I can't eat those huge burgers!).

Yes, this is very true - WDW is trying to serve things for everyone. There isn't one food out there that is perfect for everyone, so at least WDW gives us options way beyond what you find in the 'real' world. I've never seen such a wide expanse of food choices at Six Flags, the local mall food court, or in the many European cities I've eaten in (Bergen, London, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, etc). I do agree that food labeling has to be better across the spectrum though, not just at WDW.

We've tried this burger and did not like it all. The Boca was superior!
It has a strange taste that stays with you all day. We have contacted WDW
got some information on the Gardenburger, Malibu. It has more calories than the Boca and also higher in fat and carbs.
If enough people would contact disney by sending an email we might be able to bring the Boca burger back.
We were told to email:wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

Who knows it might help.
