New Game: Rocket Ship or Flying Saucer?

So I see you can choose a ship to navigate for this game...so,

Which one did you choose?

I choose rocket ship.. but i hear you can use shields for both of them.. the problem is... I DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE THEM

I chose the saucer. I just think it is cuter. Though the rocket is more old-school asteriods.

I don't think you can "use" shields, persay.

The saucer has better shields so you don't die from crashing as fast, while the rocket ship has better fire power, meaning it shoots farther.

The are also differences in speed and handling.

Look at the bar graphs when viewing the ships at the beginning of the game to decide which you think is better.

Personally, I like the rocket ship. It's easier to tell which way I'm pointing.

I tried both but I liked the saucer more. It was a bit more easy to maneuver for me.

Also, do you have to do anything special for the shields? I just thought the shield rating just meant the saucer could absorb more damage than the rocket? That it had "better shields"?

I like the saucer better only because I score more points with it almost got to level 3 but blew up just 6 seconds left to go

I use the rocket because my scores have improved a lot due to the better fire power. I'm using Safari on a Mac.

As for shields, I think they are shown as the aqua colored bar that is written across ENERGY. The big asteroids do more damage than the little ones.

I Kinda switch from the rocket, to the saucer, to the saucer to the rocket.. The rocket is easier for me to controll, but thats just me Still can't get past level 11

My boyfriend was watching me when I discovered the new game ("yay the game where you win the space suit!") and then tried to play it ("OMG I will never get past the first level! ") Luckily, he told me he is awesome at Asteroids, which I've never played but apparently this game is like, so he said he would beat it for me so I can get the suit! I hope you can get it more than once so I can give one to my best VMK friend, CDNMickey!

Okay, I am clearly asteroid-impaired because I didn't even know I had a choice between rocket and saucer! I have been playing with the saucer though.

I find it easier to steer with the rocket, the saucer just confuses me to no end as to which way I am going.

I do notice that the saucer has better shield protection while the rocket has faster speed. I would suspect that in the upper levels speed might play an important role but since I can't get past level 6 I don't know about that yet.

I am heading into work early so I can get my stuff done and have some time to play since I cannot play on my home computer (processor is not fast enough for the game).

I used to rock at Asteroids, yes I am old too. But having to start all over after one kill is frustrating. They really should have added some extra lives as they did in the airlock game. At least this way you could possibly move along faster by having more chances. This could take me a year to win that suit............................
