New furniture?

Since I am downsizing, I am definitely looking for furniture that fits better in a condo/apartment than in a big house... which is one of the reasons I am buying all new...

Although I definitely have nothing against buying certain items "gently used", this time around I would like to invest in new pieces that I can have for awhile... no little kiddies to worry about, just a sweet little pound puppy :dogdance:

So many great ideas! :thanks: I'm off to check websites :thumbsup2

Although they're certainly not as budget as IKEA, you might want to check out Calico Corners (where I work) - they have good quality furniture that will last you a LONG time, and they have smaller-scale furniture. I just bought a sectional from the "Classic Home" collection, and it's SO comfy! (We had it upholstered in a faux suede that's washable, because we do have a kid, and we plan on having dog(s) in the near future).

Hello Debbie Jean,
Moving to a smaller apartment can really be a daunting task since you are used to having a larger space..but dont worry..the internet can offer you many options. ikea can be the most affordable, you may also check out amazon.com as they have really good stuff, at cheaper rates too. my wife and i usually get pieces of furniture from those two sites. And after we buy the items, we usually call furniture assembly experts from American Direct Logistics to help us in assembling the pieces together. they can be very helpful. hope i somehow helped you in this. :goodvibes

IKEA! Not sure if there is one near you, but I love it. Great quality and prices!

Yeah I second IKEA. I am trying to get DH to get new sofas from there after we redo our living area haha

Update from OP

We went to Bob's and made a salesman very happy :lmao:Bought 2 bedroom sets, a sectional for the living room as well as a dining room table.

We will need to fill in with more, so I am happy to have all the recommendations... this has definitely been a great excuse to shop... like I really need one!:rotfl:

:thanks: one and all :flower3:

For solid, no-frills furniture at an affordable price, we've had good success with Ashley Furniture, which has several new Jersey showrooms according to their website.
