New "Frozen Fun" even in DCA

...Of course it helps that I'm a musicals junkie and Bobby Lopez is probably my favourite musical composer right now (Avenue Q is my all-time favourite musical)
I'm also a musicals junkie :goodvibes
And was able to see the Broadway productions of both Avenue Q and Book of Mormon (with Josh Gad) :thumbsup2

I'm coming very close to being totally Frozen-ed out, which is saying something because I saw it in theaters 3 times and pretty much listened to the soundtrack on repeat for 3 or 4 months!

That being said, my 4 year old boy - yes, boy! - is a huge Frozen fan, as is my 8 year old girl, so they're pretty happy with Frozen having a bigger park presence...that is, when it isn't taking over their beloved Muppetvision. :(

The current rumor is May.

That's what I've heard as well, and I certainly hope it's true because that's when we'll be making our next trip!

I get it, mostly little girls and women like Frozen, but I don't personally know any men (or even little boys!) who find Frozen appealing at all (much less want to spend any money on it or waste time on a meet and greet for it).

Add another full-grown man to the mix who absolutely loves the movie. I also know a ton of little boys (hey, that doesn't sound creep at all!) who love Frozen.

You can add my husband and youngest son to that list!

My son and Hubby love Frozen too maybe not as much as me but there added to the list too. Also I don't like the doll or pillow pals lol. I did get hot coco mugs for my early b-day gift and drunk out of it today for the first time.

My DH is definitely a Frozen Fan. He had the soundtrack and was singing the songs before we saw the movie and I had no idea what he was singing. I may have to buy him that Olaf plush at Costco! :)

A press release as well (which basically says everything the Parks Blog said) -- HERE.

:santa:

The question was answered indirectly (undoubtedly owing to Disney's aversion to "no") on the blog post, but it appears that Anna & Elsa will not be meeting those who attend a show in the Royal Theatre. So, other than parades and their appearance in the show itself, they will be will gone from Disneyland Park starting on the 20th.

Another question - that will never be answered by Disney - given their "roomier new home" in DCAP, is it possible that the line to meet Anna & Elsa will - in effect - be cut in half? (No explanation should be needed - not going to spoil the magic in this case.)

I think they answered the question clearly here:

“Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome” provides an elegant new location for Anna and Elsa to receive visitors in the Disney Animation building in Hollywood Land. (Note: The Anna and Elsa meeting location in Disneyland Park will close at the end of the day on Dec. 19.) The colorful and varied animation experience already on display in the attraction’s lobby will feature new scenes that pay tribute to Arendelle and the world of “Frozen.” As they did in the previous location in Fantasyland, guests will utilize the Return Time Ticket to meet the characters, avoiding long wait times by securing a reservation time to return to the Royal Welcome.

It seems as though the entire A&E M&G is just being moved to DCA. They will still be using Return Time tickets as before.

I just read an article on this fine forum that says Frozen Fun is coming to California Adventure. Read on:

Frozen Fun

"Disney California Adveture will soon celebrate "Frozen Fun" in the Hollywood Land area of the Park.

"For the First Time in Forever-A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration" will be held in the MuppetVision 3D theater which has been transformed to the Crown Jewel Theatre from Arendelle.

Next door at Stage 17, you'll be able to build a snowman of your own at "Olaf's Snow Fest."

Nearby you'll find Wandering Oaken's Trading Post where you can pick up the latest "Frozen" merchandise.

Over in the Animation Building, you be able to meet royalty at "Anna and Elsa's Royal Welcome," which will replace the location inside Fantasyland at Disneyland.

Finally, each night you'll be able to "Freeze The Night! A Family Dance Party."

The fun begins officially 01/07/15, but many of the experiences will be available beginning 12/20/14."

My question is - does anyone know how long this will last? We're looking at hitting up CA on March 31st and my daughter would FLIP over this. Of course, we'd expect long lines.

If anyone does any of this in the upcoming months, please post your experiences and/or advice!

Kristina4109 --

I merged your thread with the existing Frozen Fun thread. I posted the link to the press release above, but if you read the comments under the Parks Blog (which Patrick in Oregon linked above) -- HERE -- you will see that Shawn responded to some of them and said that Frozen Fun will be taking place through May 15.

Frozen show at Fantasy Faire...so are they getting rid of one of the other shows? Or cutting the others to two shows per day? I guess I need to make a point to see the current ones next week!

It is being reported that they will "temporarily" () stop the other two shows.

They sure have closed a fair few things for this :confused3

Sounds like a lot of exciting new things! Will the Beauty and the Beast and Tangled shows continue at the Royal Theatre or will the new Frozen one replace them?

Shawn Slater on December 5th, 2014 at 12:11 pm
Clarissa – For a limited time, the Royal Theatre players will be presenting the story of “Frozen” exclusively, but the “Tangled” and “Beauty and the Beast” stories remain in their repertoire to be presented again in the future.

What will happen to the Mad T Party Arcade?

Shawn Slater on December 5th, 2014 at 2:25 pm
Eddie – The Mad Arcade was part of Mad T Party and will not be available during “Frozen Fun".

---------------------------------------------------------

With the sing-along taking over the Muppet-Vision theater, what will happen to it? Is DCA planning to close Muppet-Vision permanently as some rumors have suggested?

Shawn Slater on December 5th, 2014 at 2:44 pm
Philip – “For the First Time in Forever – A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” is planned to run through at least May 15, 2015. Muppet*Vision 3D is expected to return at some point in the future.

Thanks for merging my thread to this one - awesome! I'm glad to hear it will be going on when we hit the park during Spring Break. (YES, I know it will be crowded.)

If anyone experiences it please share your advice/tips/experience here! I'm very curious what the best way to get to see all this is.

While I am a fan of Frozen and I'm curious to see the new stuff when I am down there for the Tink 1/2 Marathon weekend, I am so relieved that it is clearly stated in the official blog as being temporary. I get the crazy popularity, but that's a lot of space (and other attractions) to take over (especially the Fantasy Faire Theater, which is always packed no matter what show is being put on).

"frosty beverages for all ages" <--- Fingers crossed that this includes beverages of the alcoholic variety. I loved the fun names they came up with for all of the Mad T Party drinks (so I'm interested to see what names they come up with for Frozen), and I've been building a collection of light-up martini glasses ever since I got my first one at ElecTRONica (because it's more fun to drink out of something that lights up than a standard martini glass).

I will never forget how the longest line I have ever stood in at Disneyland was for drinks at Mad T Party at the most recent 24 hour day. It was insane.

*sigh* There goes that beautiful, non-crowded, relaxing space. :sad2:
