Even though it's not "official" yet, has anyone heard how long the Frozen Fun will last? Possibly through the summer?
We may be in the minority, but my kids love Frozen and we hope it will still be there in August. The singalong at DHS was so much fun! I'd be happy to participate again
"Official" is an important thing. It has to come directly from Disney to the public to be official and definitely on track to happen, and details could change by the time it does come from them. Things that are discussed in boardrooms or behind the scenes at creative meetings (which may leak out) may never see the light of day -- but if Disney actually writes a blog or press release about it then it's happening.
The rumors have been swirling about for quite a while now (months). We've tracked it, discussed it and analyzed any "clues" pointing to rumor validity in the Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread for as long as the rumor has been out there, and as certain details started to fall into place it became more apparent that the
Frozen stuff would happen in some way or another, though maybe not exactly as first outlined.
MiceAge started the rumors and wrote about them, and MiceAge has often proven to provide info about events or developments that don't happen. For a while, all was quiet on the
Frozen front in that Disney didn't do any Parks Blogs about it, nor did they mention it in press releases. We began to think that maybe it wasn't happening after all -- but auditions were held for musicians with a preferable knowledge of the Scandinavian folk-style of music, to perform in DCA in a storytelling environment, and that seemed to be a dead giveaway!
MiceAge claimed that the plan was to run the
Frozen mini-land of Hollywood Land until early May, ending it before the DL 60th anniversary events take place.
MiceAge also reported that all of the
Frozen shenanigans would begin on December 20th this year -- just in time for the super busy Christmas and New Year's weeks. (I would guess that there would have to be a media day of sorts on 12/19 or 12/18.) Supposedly the idea was to do it at this time so Disney could still package it as a "holiday offering," but timing it so that all APs except the Premium level would be blocked out, and also to bring in extra people to the parks during the off season (before and after Spring Break and before Summer). Then the AP holders could return to DLR after the holidays were over and their block out dates lifted, and see the
Frozen madness after everyone else had seen it.
But again, until it is officially released/announced/publicized by Disney -- which could be as soon as the next day or two -- anything could change, get added in to the plan, get removed, etc.
