New FRESH breakfast format?

I had heard that FRESH @ the Dolphin has changed to serving the basic breakfast buffet. The last time we went was May 2005. Any knowledge of this change?

Where did you hear about the change? I have not heard this, either here on the DIS Boards or on any of the other WDW resources that I read. That doesn't mean it hasn't changed, but normally we see reports when changes take place.

Hopefully, someone who has had breakfast there recently can give us a definite answer.

I am curious too! We are arriving at the Swan on Thursday through Labor Day and had heard good things about FRESH's breakfast buffet.

Like you, we loved Fresh when we discovered it, and returned several times last year for both breakfast and lunch. But this June we made our first trip back for breakfast for 2005, and we were SO disappointed! Gone are the mini bagels with assorted cream cheeses, the variety of delicious and unusual breakfast sausages, the scalloped potatoes with brie, and all the specialty breakfast entrees. What we were presented with was a regular old (although good) buffet breakfast consisting of items that can be found at just about every other buffet breakfast on property. Plain old pancakes, waffles, eggs, potatoes, sausage, pastries, etc. The only specialty item that remained were the fresh-squeezed juices, which were nice, but they alone were not worth the special trip we used to make over to the Dolphin just for breakfast.

We loved FRESH so much the way it used to be. We ate there twice on our trip last year. It was so nice to see a breakfast buffet with many different items on the menu that you could not get any place else. We just loved the Blueberry creme cheese stuffed french toast,Peanut Butter pancakes, made while you wait omelets etc.

Based on reviews I had read here, we ate there on our trip in July. I was underwhelmed. There really wasn't that much to choose from. As a matter of fact, we much preferred Crystal Palace for its selection and atmosphere. We won't be going back to Fresh.

We ate here in July and enjoyed it.
They had some different items available then, such as peanutbutter and banana French Toast.

We dined there for breakfast in May of 2005 and were also "underwhelmed." I had heard so many great things about FRESH from this board, and DH and I were so disappointed. I found it to be a bunch of cold pastries on the center table, and then made to order omelettes and pancakes in a very long, confusing line with people just standing around, confused, while surly chefs barked orders. I felt like I was in line at Seinfeld's "soup nazi!" LOL! We sure did like the Starbucks coffe, though!

In all fairness, I must have missed something...I do not remember seeing PB french toast, blueberry cream cheese french toast, or any of the other stuff mentioned. I read this thread to my DH and he said it sounds like we ate at a completely different restaurant!
